Thank you Sir, Beautifully explained. I have only one doubt regarding the figure. The quantity of Y goods ( not shown in fig) at IC2 with X2 corresponding value of X is higher than Y' with X1. My question is that after the substitution the value of Y has decreased fro Y to Y' then why it increases in the income effect part ( where I expect it not to increase). Thanks

The price effect is the combination of income (real) effect and substation effect. Through the diagram I tried to separate both. The good whose price declines results in increasing the real income of consumer in terms of this good so if the good is normal he is supposed to consume it more. But since good has become cheaper a shift in demand from other food to the cheaper good is also likely to take place. If the good is inferior substitution effect will be negative.

Please see our video on IS-LM model in which the problem that you mentioned has been referred to. IS curve shifts upward (rightward) due to an upward shift in underlying invest demand function or the downward shift in the saving function. The MPS determines the form (slope and position) of the saving function, change in it does not cause a shift in 'IS curve' it will affect its position.
