As those who call ourselves Christians or Christ followers, we should live upright and godly lives in order to honor and glorify God's name.

As those who call ourselves Christians or Christ followers, we should live upright and godly lives in order to honor and glorify God's name. Unfortunately, followers of Jesus Christ can bring reproach on the Lord's name with their language, their daily attitudes and actions, and their overall lifestyle. When a believer's words are crass, when their attitude is unloving, actions are self-centered, and lifestyle sinful, differing little from that of 'the world,' it brings reproach on the Lord's name. If we call ourselves Christ followers, then that's what we need to be, and we need to do our best to follow His commands. Now, a new, baby Christian isn't going to be the same as a more mature Christian, and a more mature Christian isn't always going to get it right, but we should definitely be looking more and more like Jesus. If we don't, what good will it do, how much impact will we have. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.
