A great bass and a multitalented artist. Thank you, dear Manoli.

An underrated item, sung with a degree of emotion and vocal suavity that it rarely receives. Beautiful. Thank you, Manoli!

Puccini's only bass aria? Such a shame he never write a great mezzo scene either. This is beautifully sang with aching vocal colour.

I’ve seen some count Timur’s lines after Liù dies as an aria.

Would not the Angelica/Zia Principessa scene count as a great mezzo scene?

What a luscious rich voice. You said it the other day when talking for appropriate voices in the Don Giovanni case. This aria is the saddest one of ALL.I mean because there's no war or mythology going with it. It's something that could happen to any of us. The farewell to a friend. Colline was in love with the good clothes he still kept.Above all his overcoat. This is something very french. If good it's better old than new.Although the mise en scene might have changed through the years,he holds it like a baby in his arms and strokes it.They have gone a long way together.Wearing it he never bowed in front of power or money. But he let other pholosophers or young guys touch it and find nothing in its cave long empty pouches. It's a love aria for me from your beloved Puccini. The overcoat will reach a mountain he will not climb. It's wonderful when you present a less popular aria that makes us love the opera more. For me La Boheme is mainly the two presentation arias. This is a marvel too.And a beautiful way of homaging your important tessitura. With one of your favourite basses. Thank you Manoli.Again you have managed to touch my heart inmensely.
