This chapter is really tough as it shows the terrible consequences of wrong decisions. Some wrong decisions can never be corrected well.

Thank you for this teaching! I was so moved by Ezra’s prayer in chapter 9 that I had to take notes and then chapter 10 slapped me across the face and I was filled with disgust with how ugly the decision to divorce their wives. I understood it was set themselves right before god. I just couldn’t understand why this was the only way. It really gave pretext to how destructive sin is and the consequences we must face despite making ourselves right before god. Gods grace may save us but we are still held accountable for our sins and to correct or overcome them we must face the ugly consequence that arríese from our ugly actions. This was extremely humbling!

Yes, agreed. Ezra 10 really highlights the mess that sin can bring about in our lives. Sometimes there is no good solution.

What denomination are you?
