Does this bring back memories! My five years in AR shop were the best years of my career. Extremely busy, challenging and we had to think! I’ve always felt that the pitch feel trim system design was partially an afterthought. Bellows problems were not uncommon and were typically easily identified and repaired. We lost two pilots when their aircraft crashed into the lake that is at the EOR. The investigation determined that the bellows failed and caused a locked stab. I’ll go to my grave maintaining that the investigation could not positively determine that a bellows failure caused the fatal crash.

I love this! Very interesting training film of the flight control systems of the F-4 aircraft. I especially like training films that go into detail about the aircraft systems (& development). These type films are not nearly as common as films & videos that mainly just show the aircraft in flight. But to me, the systems & development films are more interesting, as they are seldom seen outside the small community of the aircraft company & the military users of the aircrat.

Yaw trim indicator is a string. Lemme guess , the string is made of spaceage polymer and has high cost .
