Watching videos to see if it's worth buying, I got the F-111A a little while ago and it's actually decent, but what makes me VERY vulnerable is the fact that it only carries Aim9Bs in a tier with a lot of better missiles lol

Meanwhile, TGP-Assisted AGM-65's on F-16C since... **Checks notes** ...September, 2023... (Su-25SM3 was introduced March, 2024) (Yes, IK there's more nuance to it since the 38's can do it from lower altitudes and have a laser-guided version that you can do funky stuff like staggered launches or switching targets at range, but the point stands. People underestimate how much range you can squeeze out of a Maverick with altitude and speed, of which Voyager had only one in this clip).

The main advantage of the KH38s is not only their range, but also their speed and warhead size. Mavericks are slow as FUCK, and are easily intercepted by almost any spaa that is paying attention, KH38s are much trickier to intercept, and they have such a large HE warhead that they can easily take out a few targets in one hit, while the maverick is meh in damage, even after the buff.

@@creepincreepy261 Just anecdotally, I've noticed my Mavs usually kill in one or two hits, and I have yet to get a collateral with KH-38's. Haven't really had a problem intercepting or at least dodging them either since I'm watching for the launch. point I was trying to make is that the capability gap ain't really even that great in practice. Yes, I have gotten a KH-38 to go 40km in a custom battle. I have yet to kill anything beyond a ~20km launch, which is possible with a Maverick (Despite the slower travel time).
