So interesting enough actually pilots of this plane stated it could carry aim 9 E and B missiles, modified hard points had to be added to the bay but it could carry them, would have been so cool to see it have it, although no record showing it used outside of testing so probably they won’t add it

Well, it's US, so unless half the fleet was equipped with it, it won't get it. Now, if it was russain, a single paper stating that it was theoretically possible would be good enough to equip them.

My friends and I have been talking about the f117 and the concept of stealth in war thunder and how it'd work for a long time, were all happy to see they actually did it

I guess a completist will want this but from what I've learned about the F-117 it's only mission profile is flying at a high altitude at night releasing guided ordnance from stand off range. Not exactly exciting.

Will be helpful to pick off enemy SPAA though, frankly it's a nice balance of things given it's only got 2 bombs and no counter measures or anything. If SPAA is just locking out the ground map for friendly CAS one of these will be quite handy.

It would make the most sense there. it only has 2 bombs and u can easily get shot down by AA.

@@chloeholmes4641 The radar at the BRs it will see are basically useless though, especially head on which is what lower BR radar missiles are good for. It has no countermeasures and can get picked up by IR missiles rather well. It also has poor flight performance and no counter measures or A2A capability so it's not like it's gonna be crazy at 8.7

This is the only thing that I'm looking forward to in the update. I'm a ground realistic main, but I'm definitely gonna use the hell out of this thing in sim, and I might even try air realistic a few times just to see. I had seen a leak list with it, but I would have figured it would be a little while before it was added.

It entirely depends on the situation, but regardless, the low frequencies wouldn't be able to guide a missile very accurately.

And that was cuz the f117 is still a very primitive stealth aircraft, f22 and b2 have no such weaknesses

so its basically a bomber at 10.0 that instead of gunners it has stealth to protect itself from the more advanced missiles that can start to replace guns at this tier. it might even be more effective if it was slightly higher br here more planes relly more on redar and missiles. and like the very early bombers it doesn't have that great of a bomb load and later stealth bombers will be better at bombing. if it had flaress it would be very strong.

Honestly, best Update for America. Basically negates all the S1s. We finally have a counter to a team full of SPAA instead of getting spawned capmed in your air spawn

I'm curious what that radar resistance will look like. Will it be completely invisible on radar, or just really hard to get a radar missile lock? What's the heat sig going to look like for IR missiles, will it be like trying to lock onto a plane? Will it get an air spawn?

It all came down to bad timing. They opened thier bomb doors right when the radar crossed over them. This allowed the serbs to get a radar lock.
