Iran has reverse engineered numerous parts for the F14. Last time I read about the Iranian F-14, it was stated that only about 20 are air worthy at any time. Most of the non operational F-14 they have are cannibalized for spare parts to keep the remainder flying. Attempts at adapting Russian engines and missiles has been largely unsuccessful. Iran has built ripoff F-5, and still has many F-4E that can fly. The IRIAF has many Mig-29A, and Shenyang F-7 (Mig-21 with upgrades). These planes carry the bulk of the air to air combat load. Russia will probably sell Iran Su-30 sooner or later and then the F-14 can be retired.

12:26 Bro, F-14 retired from US Navy in 2006. Osama Bin Laden was killed in 2011! In Iran-Iraq war, Iran used F-14 against Iraqi MiG-25. Iran won the Dogfights. Iran is the only user of F-14 until this day after it was retired from US Navy.
