Conversely, I think better advice for average Air RB gameplay in the f15 is to NOT let yourself get below ~800 kph or you just start shitting energy away like mad. You keep above that and it flies well and maintains energy, below and your next maneuver leaves you basically dead in the air. Only really want to get slow like that when you know your arent getting 3rd partied

the F15 is really one of the planes that would really benefit from just being able to dump fuel.trying to fight with over 30 minutes of fuel is basically hopeless

Best thing you can do rn is get low fuel in the plane it self and get 2 or 3 fuel tanks and drop when you need to dogfight

@@farawayseal There's really no reason not to take all the drop tanks you can carry and take as little internal fuel as you can get away with on all jets with high fuel consumption and access to drop tanks. Suddenly got caught at near full fuel? Ditch the drop tanks and you're instantly a UFO. Need endurance? The drop tanks have negligible empty weight/drag so flight performance will be virtually identical between drop tanks + min fuel vs no drop tanks + max fuel.

Its also very helpful that now you can adjust fuel amount, in my MiG-21MF I can grab more fuel and afterburn until Im at altitude above nearly everyone and just lob missiles

The combat weight of fuel is why I started using the "Fighter Mafia" tactic. Min fuel in plane, max drop tanks. Depending on the battle I'm getting into and the time left, I can drop how ever much I need to get though the battle. Every time, I surprise the enemy by instantly tripping my rate after the first turn.

9:40 you can also keep your flaps in the 'down' position, and the plane will pull them up automatically when gaining speed, and put them down automatically when losing it.

Love this aircraft and have done well with it and I'm confident taking on anything short of F-16s and Gripens. Looking forward to the AAM-4s for the F-15J in the future. I have a real life memory of the F-15J. On November 6th last year, I was fortunate to see a few of these perform at Gifu Air Base (I visited the Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum) along with F-2s, T-4s and C-2. This was the highlight of that Japan visit and I recommend visiting that museum if you get the chance.

The F bomb was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. It's been my experience with this jet as well, subsonic speeds it can pull crazy AOA and the engines can stand on themselves.

Your notes on long landing runs can be mitigated with whats called "aerodynamic braking" aka pull the flaps up on touchdown and pull back. You stop usually 20-40% shorter kills the lift and lets the jet "sit down" on the gear

with the new update the radar seems to have gotten a change and it can now enter "PD RAM" once it locks onto something, seems to just be TWS, radar missiles cant slave to it, IR can. not idea what it actually is, but it can do that now

A tip for flying F15 and F16. Use minimum fuel with 3 drop tanks, if required u can drop de side tanks or all 3 of them and make your plane lighter for dog fight, the remaining fuel being enough for a dog fight and getting back to refuel

What you've said about player count is spot on top tier planes are unplayable due to this issue. Most of the I find myself fight aganist 3-4 people while my teammates are either dead or too far away too do anything. I hope in the next update we get more reduced player count for the matches otherwise it'd be shit show with all active homing missiles being lobbed around..

35min+1 drop tank is the usual set up for me since i always superglue my throttle to max and drop the tank depending on the map or if i went to space yes depending on the weather if it super cloudy/storm and there's no f14s on the enemy team i'd just drop me extra fuel(fuel dropping slower if you go above 7000m i guess even in wep) and go for 25-30 degrees climb until i see the curvature of the earth, jk it usually around 10000m

God the landing run in this thing is pain. Literally just better to land without the gear cuz it takes waaay too long to stop xD I've had fun with the AAM-3's.... you can get some pretty ridiculous head on locks with them especially on hotter maps vs hot planes... You kinda saw such a thing against that F-16 at 9:10 with the lock at about 6KM. I've had one lock on Sinai against an F-15 at 9KM. Guy had no idea. Combine that with the fact it doesn't care about random flaring.... yep. It's likely to be improved in the future to as things get more advanced and they can more accurately depict what it can do without completely breaking the game. Wouldn't surprise me if the AAM-4 is put in with the next update toned down like the 3 is, but improved over time as the Active's get more advanced as well.

No, drop tanks are though, just take as little fuel as you can get away with for dogfighting and drop tanks. Now you have UFO performance on button press. Drop tanks in WT have so little drag it won't make much difference if you take just internal or min internal + drop tanks, it's all about the weight

I see a lot of people shit on this plane for no reason, I always tell them: Give it a chance, learn the plane then thank me later. They say it's slow, it turns and rolls like crap, which is totally false, they expect the F-15 perform like a freaking F-16 or something. The stock grind isn't as bad as it looks, yes it rolls poorly without booster upgrade but once you unlock it, the plane feels completely different.

So the problem is the meta, not the plane. What an elegant way to tell that a solid turnfighter ends up underperforming in a missile-based meta. Having only 4 IR missiles and no HMD compared to the Gripen and the Su-27 objectively led this first wave of F-15s to a tactical disadvantage. The Gripen rinses the F-15 at almost any relevant feature, the Su-27 can out BVR the F-15 quite easily through supression, and the Mirage 4000 with the revamped Magic 2s now is even more menacing than the F-15 in ARB. That was a decent summary of why the plane stayed at 12.3 and even the M4K got moved up, and slowing "the FUCK down" to do some turnfights its only going to get you killed unless you've waited enough to scavenge through the endgame while being absurdely useless to the team you're in for the longest part of the match.

Wrong the f-15 sucks wing rips all the god dam time it only good as a fast bomber and it has aim-9m. It was awful to fly in game and the radar missile sucks and no HMD. The J-8F is a million times better and it is at 11.7 skip the f-15 or just use it to bomb bases f-14 and f-16 are much much better to fly and have fun. Air RB not ground or sim or arcade I don't know if its better in those modes. Also the gun fucking sucks even with gun CCIP hitting ground targets is difficult and hitting planes is just spray and pray because it handles worse then a B-17.
