F-22 Raptor Thunders Over South Beach Like A Boss | 2017 MB Air Show

It came, it saw, it rocked the beach, and then it left. The F-22 Raptor is one of the most secretive, deadly planes on earth. The F-22’s GEN 5 stealth capability makes it nearly invisible, with a Radar image no larger than a bumblebee - a huge advantage for the pilot who has a 360 degree view of the battlefield surrounding his aircraft while he remains virtually undetectable. In 2006 US war games, the Raptor proved invincible against outdated F-15s with a kill ratio of 108-0. This is the incredible full demo from the 2017 first ever Miami Beach Air Show.

I have witnessed the roar of the F22 twice now at two separate airshows. Let me tell you the F22 is loud. It actually sounded like the sky was ripping in half. A memory I will never forget. Amazing fighter jet.

This thing doesn't just fly, it tears through the sky. Those engines total is like 80,000 pounds of thrust and I love the way the wind kicks off those wings. Makes it look like angel's wings.

Saw the Raptor long before the public did. Way back in early 2000 I was driving south on I-75 coming thru Marietta GA... this thing came out of nowhere, vertical right next to my car... as it flashed by. I noted it’s bay doors were open... scared the s**t out of me and several other motorists, as I glanced in my rear view to see their reactions!!! It was completely SILENT until it cleared the I-75 corridor... once I reached my hotel I quickly googled LM and was amazed that they were testing it right as I drove thru Marietta. Another post said LM dropped it (purposely) from 3 stories up, just to gauge damage... it took a nice bounce and kept flying🇺🇸

M CAT There’s still plenty of military funding for maintenance and upgrades, just not for producing new ones. But you can bet Trump is weighing the cost of a production restart for an F-22B since he really doesn’t like the business end of Lockheed’s true Golden Goose, the F-35. And it’s probably a good guess he’s negotiating with Japan and Australia to help with F-22B restart costs, so who knows?

Crazy thing is watching fighter jets for years and feeling and seeing common maneuvers and how a plane acts and shifts and man watching that was I the only one Jsut baffled at about every moment it made? I mean it threw off my senses so many times to where I thought did I jsit imagine that; was that a glitch? But every single time I'd notice that insane bird tail flapping and transforming shapes , such an amazing jet, can't wait to hear how it's first actual air to air combat mission goes ! So epic and so next gen!

I wonder if you could apply a super-wire, from nose of jet to outer point of main wings, without vibration problems? It would break the still air ahead of main wings into forward moving swirl so wing cutting through air friction is probably reduced by 40% perhaps? Faster jet/longer flight capabilities???

Shaun Grace Wouldn't work. F-22 not your ordinary fixed-wing aircraft. At about the 5 min mark look and see slats on the wings LEADING EDGE continually moving to change the geometrical configuration of the jet. Wires would simply interfere with the required aerodynamics these slats help generate, and would end up causing, among other negatives, unpredictable air flow buffeting that would dramatically interfere with the jets maneuverability and flight performance, and that, my friend, would be bad ;)
