This is the BEST and breathtaking version that I've ever heard. This Nocturne is so hard to play, so easy to be too much or too less of the actual emotion.

SO WONDERFUL AS ALWAYS AND IMPORTANT!!!!! Thank you for one of my favourite Chopin's Nocturnes in an excellent your rendition and for your tutorial/analysis, this video will be helpful for many pianists (I play a lot of Chopin's pieces, mainly his Waltzes, Preludes, Mazurkas, Polonaises and Nocturnes, but not these very difficult), again my best regards, have a nice evening. Is this really a very difficult piece? To me as a mere beginner piano player it doesn’t sound all too difficult, but I’m sure I’m wrong. What would you say makes it difficult?
@mikolajochocki2810

@@465painkiller465 It's definitely not super difficult. Once you can play some of Chopin's easier Preludes you can start approaching this piece :)

This nocturne I never understood. And I never was open to trying to understand it until recently. So I came to your videos since you seem to know Chopin as if you wrote his music. And for the very first time I feel like I understand this piece and the different style of nocturne.

Hello Greg, first of all, such a beautiful analysis, as always. I am currently learning this nocturne and whenever i start a Chopin piece, i think of you and come to hear your words about whatever Chopin piece of music i am diving into, and it always helps me to gain a deeper understanding of it. also, how do you spell the name of the author at 22:37 ? I'd be very interested to read this book, is there an english version for it ?

Thank you! The name of the author is Ferdynand Hoesick! I'm not sure if you can find the English version.... good luck with this Nocturne! I'm sure you will do a great job because you are searching for a lot of information, not just learning the notes. Bravo!

That's the second pair of Nocturnes where you have said "we can go from the first to the second with hardly a pause". So, would you make a video doing exactly that for op 37 for all of us to hear, and for you to see whether it brings any thoughts to you as you do it. In passing, I note that there are a few occasions in Competition XVIII where contestants do exactly that (although not in Nocturnes as such).

Im not that of a Chopin guy, I always liked playing Handel and a lot of baroque pieces. After my 30s I started playing the romantics a lot, I don't know why but I was so amazed at their work! Chopin came a bit later..I first heard this nocturne played by my friend to test my new piano and I REALLY LOVED IT! The bass sections gives such a huge depth in the music! Decided to learn it too and all of a sudden...I watched your video!It was a beautiful analysis, I felt the same about many of its parts! Hope to watch your other videos about the Nocturnes which I know start to get involved with!Thank you, very good job!
