I KNOW that FDR player. His name is Wizard_Ferret, and he's with ASALT, a clan that is enemies with my own, FleetForce. They used to be a part of us in the past, unfortunately. To make matters worse, while he and ASALT were still with us, we actually had to ban Wizard from all Clan Battle and team-based activities. The reasons are: 1) He never communicated to teammates, saying that: "No one was worth talking or listening to." 2) He never provided any support to teammates at all, from scouting to AA defense. 3) He only went for accumulating damage numbers. DDs were seen as the lowest priority, as "They didn't have enough HP." And he would always prefer to not kill a BB or beefy ship, so that they could recover more HP. This allows them to remain a threat to the team. 4) He WILL prolong a battle as much as possible to increase his damage total, and never pursue an objective (such as defending his base in Standard Battles) unless it keeps the battle going. Great example for 2 and 3: The enemy DD at the end. Wizard only spotted that DD after he himself was spotted, and was under imminent threat. Waterlogged (a FleetForce member) has my full support in this.

His game play should piss off his teammates. Yes, he had a great damage game. However he didn't drop, spot or do anything to cruisers or especially DD's. He was simply farming BB damage and yes, the team eventually won but his team play was pathetic.

Most people don't know the definition of "support". It can be everything in WoWs like "spotting", "do damage to high priority targets ('cause they can f*** up your teammates)" and/or "cover an ally with hydro, fighter, smoke or whatsoever". I can't understand how people think the only things a CV have to do is spotting and covering. It's a tunnel thinking. Same like the DD's have to cap the areas under miserable and suicide-like circumstances but blamed if they die. These are a few reasons why I disable the chat after a toxic commentary ingame 'cause the most players are incomprehensible these days.

Most players have absolutely no idea about the intricacies of different ships. Doesn't help that most WoWs players don't play CVs so they have no idea what the strengths and weaknesses of the different CVs are so they can't work around those differences. That Thunderer player is a prime example. FDR is the Conqueror of CVs. It is made to damage farm. Asking an FDR with its slow af planes to fly out of its way to provide fighter cover is not what an FDR does best.

Farmer CV or not, I agree with the team that he needed to be spotting those DDs at the end. Instead he sends planes after 2 mid-hp BBs while ignoring Shikishima. It's almost as if he farmed damage out of spite. He got lucky when he finished Smaland, who had a good chance at killing him. The best play was to spot Smaland while Thunderer and Halland where in a position to attack Smaland. This game could've easily been a throw.

Because it inconsistent and has nerfed alpha. KM - The only CV will make you unhealable, but easily countered if you angling and pray the RNG throw off the bomb and rocket.

in 90% of cases cv's act like bad radar in a sense, 15-30 seconds of spotting but cant see through smoke, dds do most of the important spotting, cv's rack up damage and get stuff to turn, or punish things for not turning

In this battle cv was totally useless despite 300k dmg and 1 place. Its just because of good teammates, not him. Main advantage of CV is that he can kill every ship on map, no matter if they hide behind island or blue line. This man was totally ignoring damaged ships, trying to farm more dmg. That's a strategy of ProAlpha farmer, but not winning strategy

So FDR depends on RNG and MM. It is not easy to make FDR operation to fit onto organized tactics. So, many of FDR players just obsess on damage dealing and aren't interested in other helpful job just like revealing enemy DD's position. At least, if FDR players can do other helpful job while waiting for cooldown for next attack at the same time, then they should care about to do it.

@@invink6716 even spotting DD with the FDR is kinda pain, since planes are extremely slow. Bonus difficulty points if its a non-potato halland/smaland or full concealment shima with AA off. All that time wasted could be converted to damaging enemy BBs, so your team could finish them faster and do objectives.

His teammates had reason to be pissed. There's not one single drop on a cruiser or DD, and no attempt was made to harass or spot any of the DD's. He simply (and brilliantly) flew around avoiding flak and dropping BB's for the sole purpose of farming damage.

That's because it has high HP per plane. But it has slow speed and its attacks are not that effective agaist DDs with more than 2 braincells. And if you see its planes coming and dodge, FDR is not that actually threatening.

To be honest, from a teamwork standpoint, this FDR was not helpful at all. As the Halland in the game, I pinged the DD many many times, and it would've been much easier if he could just hover around that DD for us to kill him once and for all. Also, I died pretty much because of the almost dead Shikishima that he decided to ignore.

Well actually he really was not playing for the team. Did he do a lot of damage to BBs? Sure. But if he would have supported his team the match would have been won 5 minutes earlier. This was simply damage farming, trying to extend the time available to farm damage as long as possible.

Aircraft HP and ship HP arent compareable. First of all, a squadron comprises of multiple aircraft. Each aircraft has its own HP pool, the FDR ones have arround 3500. Then an aircraft looses all of its HP its gone and cannot drop its ordinance. But most importantly aircraft and ships take damage from diffrent source. AA guns and fighters will never attack a suface ship. Neither will the main guns, secondarys or torpedos ever hit an aircraft.

Damage was very good but first and for all thunderer was right about planes to support him not only for defence but for spot too. About smaland he just killed low hp smaland same goes to daring he didn't spot them for entire battle if those dds had brain they could easily win. To conclude pilot of cv is good for sure but he needs to work with his team more :)

I just find it funny that no one was blaming the DD’s on the FDR team. You had a Shima and Gearing, both of which have the lowest detection out of all the DD’s on either side and yet couldn’t stay safe and got taken out. Are people forgetting that DD’s, especially the Shima, is suppose to spot as well? And it wasn’t as if those DD’s were up against a Midway or even an Audacious. Let’s be a little more honest and spread the blame. The DD’s didn’t do their job.

i dont like the way this guy played. at all. whilst fdr is certainly ill suited to go after dds (halland/smaland), this guy fails to help spot the enemy dd while ON HIS WAY to a target. that in itself tells a lot about how hes getting the concept of cv wrong. dont get the wrong idea, i main cvs myself, but this fdr playstyle is too selfish. it doesnt make a difference to lose one or two planes spotting a daring, but he chooses to make his bbs chase dds. poor decision making imho

As a Owner of an FDR i can say it's not the same as other cv's like Midway,Hak, ect. It's pretty much a farmer playstyle Cv pretty useless for spotting rocket aircraft can't even drop fighers. HP is crazy but at the cost of drag ass speed. tryed to play mine as a support and never do very well played as a farmer and did crazy good. sadly this thing is a one trick pony and that is Damage. I Expect when this ship comes out more people will hate it for being a greedy cv to play and it's not really the players fault but the way this Cv was made.

To be frank, 300k+ dmg do not matter if you don't play a team-based game as a team-based game. I guess it'd be better if you had helped your team in handling enemy DDs first. HOWEVER, you dealt severe blows on enemy battleships which also count as teamwork, since you helped your team in sinking enemy BBs who would've become a threat eventually if left alive. Goodjob!

With a normal tech tree CV your team would have lost. Your gameplay was just selfish and not teamplay at all. FDR ist a good example, that WG tends to rewards bad play with OP ships. 'cause $$$!
