The study doesn't say that they couldn't tell the two parts. It's saying that professionals can't distinguish which is Strad, and which is new, and audience and professionals 60% prefer the sound of newer violins (while can't identify them).

@@dustintsai1839 ganna want to tell you something funny , if there's a violinist like Paganini ,I mean any of perfect violinist, they can play a very beautiful sound even you use a $100USD violin. So the only problem isn't about violin but who play it😏
But which is Strad? You're misunderstanding the study

@@齊天大聖-ho The double-blinded study is where both the violinists and audience all do not know and cannot see the violins they're playing (so cannot tell which are old Stradivarius and which are new violins). This study was repeated many times where many Strads were compared to newly made professional violins. The results were than both the professional violinists and audience all could not tell which were the Strads and which were the new violins; rather, when asked to which violin sounds did they prefer, 60% of the people, including the professional musicians, preferred the new violins over the old Strads. But if they can see they're playing the Strads, then they'll say Strads are better, of course...
