When Philip was producing this song he asked, “Is this supposed to be ironic?” I suppose it could have been. But no…it’s completely genuine. I was thinking of what it would be like to get to the end of your life and actually feel proud and at ease - like you did it. Like you did absolutely everything you wanted to do, loved everyone really well, were a good friend to yourself and to others. I tried to tap into what that would feel like. My theory is that if you want to feel good when you get to the end of your life, you should practice feeling good now. It may sound silly but I highly recommend congratulating yourself on a regular basis. “You did it!” Or if that’s too hard, just listen to this song and think about all the things you’re good at and the people who love you. Also, this seems like a good time to tell you that Pomplamoose’s French record will be called “Félicitations!” Coming Spring of 2024 🌷🇫🇷🥂
