Clearly this entire show was an elaborate advertisement paid by the university. It was interesting at first but I soon realized it was all a set up when absolutely nobody was getting any answers incorrect and could also give a beautiful story to go with each answer. In fact, all of the eliminated contestants were only eliminated by being too slow to press the button rather than being wrong. The only time someone got something "wrong" was when the young woman just happened to not know the details of the casual seller and their history at the university. The show producers picked something that was not too essential to the university around academia to not make anybody look too bad. This allowed for there to be a "winner", the good looking youngish guy. Next they gave him relatively measly bookstore voucher for 5000 baht, a Thai airways voucher and some cheap merchandise from the university. But, even though he had already won, the show had to show their dedication to the university by having him answer some very hard questions in front of the Chancellor himself, which, of course he got 100% correct. Then to top it off they gave a massive 1,000,000 baht donation to the university, even though they'd given them more than an hour of promotion. As a foreigner this clearly doesn't give me a good image for the university and gives me the sense that as long as you pay, attend your classes and don't make bad favour with the university staff then you're guaranteed to pass as seen in this show.
