凤尾绿咬鹃，Resplendent Quetzal, 哥斯达黎加，Costa Rica,2023

We had a self-driving trip to Costa Rica in April 2023, focusing on photographing birds. Many thanks to 猪宝宝 who shared their experience and itinerary with us. We saw Quetzal in the Los Quetzals National Park areas.
Itinerary
San Jose - Arenal Volcano area (Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa, 2 nights) - la Fortuna (1 night) - Boca Tapada (La Laguna del Lagarto Eco-Lodge, 2 nights) - Alajuela (Bosque de Paz Reserva Biologica, 1 night) - Sarapiquí (Selva Verde Lodge, 1 night) - Los Quetzals National Park (Paraiso Quetzal Lodge, 2 nights; and Cabinas El Quetzal, 2 nights) - San Jose (Bougainvillea Hotel, 1 night).

One more question? I am also planning to go by March next year in Paraiso Quetzals lodge do you remember if they also have hummingbirds feeders? How was your experience there? And did you also go to Rancho Naturalista? Did you rent a 4x4 vehicle from the airport? Which rental company? Thank you so much.

It’s a good place for hummingbird photography, with or without feeders. We did not go to Rancho Naturalista. Yes, we rent a 4x4 from Alamo via Expedia.
