This is one of my favourite scenes, it shows that ruowei understands and cares for taisun. They are a true match, in understanding each other and what they’re willing to do for family. When taisun asked if ruowei has regrets, deep down he wants to ask if she loves him. The second that ruowei said “whether beheading or banishment, I will be with you”, he knew she is beginning to love him. What a tender moment, well acted by both actors!

Yes, traditionally Chinese never say “I love you.” Instead they put love through actions. Also, saying she’s willing to accompany him on exile or even die for him, is true love and more than love.

This drama left me so unsatisfied honestly...after he died, I couldn't even watch the rest of it, there wasn't enough romance for me. I just skipped to see how it ended and I didn't like the end either.. 😓😓😓

I agree. Things just became devastating & heartbreaking. The storylines also were short & choppy. At some point there was no depth to it. Seemed like a quick closure. I was really unsatisfied with the lack of development in Ruwei & Zhanji’s relationship. This scene seemed to be the peak of it. There was also less quirky witty dialogue as the series progressed. That was why I loved the series so much in the beginning.
