What a great video. Schelling is my favourite philosopher and it was always a great pain to find videos and updated material about him. This seems to be changing, thanks.

“completed the system of german idealism” is a very bold statement, but one i’m starting more and more to agree with.
@TheYoungIdealist2 жыл бұрын
I mean in some sense, Schelling crosses over into ontology and this makes his project not only novel but highly innovative.

I really appreciate and admire the work you're doing, making Schelling's thought available to more people. This can only be beneficial for "the world" (?). Or anyway for the general intellect.

I enjoyed the video thoroughly!!! I have always been a lover of biographies. Schelling was an interesting person. What amazed me most is the fact that Schelling took interest in the world of ghost and mediums. Thank you !!! 😊

Apologies folks this was a rough video, but I am glad It's out, I really love biographies on philosophers. I am sorry my excitement and enthusiasm got the best of me. There should be two corrections in this video it was a letter to Jacobi in 1812! Not Fichte ... and it should be Hegel's Science of Logic .... not Science of knowledge ...my mistake lol and I have no idea why I sound so out of breath!

As a newcomer to Schelling, I really enjoy your channel. One tiny other correction, Caroline was the wife of August Wilhelm Schlegel, not Friedrich. Keep up the good work!
@TheYoungIdealist2 жыл бұрын
@@sanderoosterom6790 Yes, you are so right, I always make the same error, because F. Schlegel was an opponent of both Fichte and Schelling. Thank you for your kind comments and of course the correction!

Philosopher on the ocean of ideas or the one who realized all the oceans appeared in him… without the traps of either hard or soft solipsism? Would be lovely to solve the Sanskrit mystery, but even if he didn’t know it, arguably all the Gitas translate more than well enough to experience the field and the knower of the field without separation.

Hi Rylee, I brought up two books, both by Bruce Matthews the first one is called "Schelling's Organic Form of Philosophy: Life as the Schema of Freedom;" and the second book is on Schelling life called "The Heretic of the Enlightenment," set for a 2023 release.

Thank you, Christopher, for the work you do, it is really important to return prof. Schelling to a prominent place in the history of philosophy which, in my opinion, was taken away from him.

And Thank you for your comment and for taking the time to watch this video. I feel that Schelling is such an important thinker and his work really needs to be shared with everyone and so I plan on doing many videos covering his harder and more experimental works.
