Great racing overall, there is only so much you can do to optimize your chances in lobbies that are this stacked, as you mention. It’s tough to practice for these GGPs because in any regular match, the danger of ranking out on the first lap of Mute City is nonexistent. In GGP it is a real fear. It’s crazy to scroll down at the end of a race and see all the top players who ranked out, players who could easily sweep a standard Grand Prix. All of that being said, you should be real proud for getting 1st place in a GGP race! That is an awesome achievement in a field as competitive as this.

36:00 i believe you got back bumped very hard before the jump by one player and the golden bumper. and so one reaction would be to take a more modest jump landing

1:08:09 I felt like I disappointed a couple people for not taking the front run with Stingray but it was all survival tactics for me as well 0 KOs coming into Silence 2 iirc and I didn't trust myself to not be the first to hit the mines lolol so I was def playing it safe ggs Mengsk it was as intense as always!

About the UFO...I think it's just the circumstances of those insane races where the pressure is the highest ever and you always have to adjust since you can't just do what you'd usually do. I noticed that also with other players like Misa, mistakes happen that usually don't, no matter how good you are, it's challenging everybody more than usual, especially ranking out is a bigger threat than ever in almost every lap.

36:08 You have, but it was right at the change of the UFO positioning. I remember you going back and testing exactly where it was, and discovered it was right at the straight line part after the curve. Must be the same for reverse. Just to edit this comment: Playing it at 0.25 speed, I think you're safe if this was normal White Wind I, but you're probably landing on what I presume is the line for White Wind I Reverse. It sucks, but this is exactly why I always make sure I land on the curve part, not the straight part.

its visually tricky when youre used to WL1 but no reason for me to even try the maximum jump distance just a bad play

“Packed lobby full of all the best players.” But I wasn’t in mirrors 😂 But seriously, I noticed a phenomenon in this event that wasn’t present even in cracked cups where the traffic was so condensed that even though more sparks are being generated, an individual would receive less than usual as you can only get the sparks from the player directly in front of you. I was able to do a much better job surviving after adjusting to that and just the general intensity of masters. And nice win on dw2

Spark management can easily make or break a race, the drought can be rough

It looks like, in a GP with 99 of the best players, there are only so many optimal / favorable moments to go around. It's just not possible for everyone to do well.
