Coming from Mario Kart this racing game was unbelievably frustrating. It's nice to just be able to watch someone play through it. I'm not sure I'll ever have the patience to get through it myself even though my DS still works.

I got into f-zero and thought the story mode was frustrating too. Have you tried the grand prix? It's way less frustrating and probably more fair.

It's so sad. While most people believe that F-Zero GX/AX (July 2003) was the last game in the series, it's actually this game (Nov 2003) and its sequel, "F-Zero Climax" (Oct. 2004) that were the last in the series.. While I did mention its sequel, it was only ever released in Japan. To the rest of the world however, this would be the final F-Zero game that we got,...and this was in 2004. This is excluding spin offs and Cameos obviously. Man how we all miss F-Zero.

I have mixed feelings about this game. On one hand, I think Story mode didn't translate well on a Mode-7 F-Zero. The system limitations plus the clunky physics (especially the annoying bouncing) make for a rather frustrating gaming experience. And while the intention was good, the execution could have been much better. But on the other hand, I enjoyed Grand Prix mode. Once you get past the ordeal that is Story Mode and you finally unlock all the machines (or at least the ones you want the most), you can relax and have fun. In this regard, GP Legend is a bit of a nostalgic game as you listen to the classical tunes while driving the familiar F-Zero SNES/X machines in an old-school style.

I changed controls and set B to lateral attack, I used it on turns with vehicles that did not have A grip, after that the game was very easy compared to gx

You're missing Rick Wheeler Chapter X. You get it by not having less than a billion after chapter 4.

How to kill a franchise 101 make every single entry as non beginner friendly as possible. That second stage on the story mode, really you want me to make those many sharp turns back to back with the fantastic mode 7 draw distance,with GBA screen crunch and those narrow track that you bounce off of? At least GX's difficulty wasn't due to the system limitations making the game BS.

No. How to kill it is with ADD pipsqueaks like you bitching about always wanting everything easy, unlocked and no progeression. F Zero from the VERY FIRST GAME was supposed to be brutal. The fact you can't man up and accept it tells me all I need to know.

The only game ever made that when you play with the Villain they're no OP or something like that. Black Shadow's and Blood Falcon's ships are terrible

For me this game is to easy. But F-zero X was impossible hehe. I really wish this game had a master mode. But I found out the problem is the IA trye to crash in the wall to bump at you. Its both harder. But also easier, because they slow down. F-zero MX AI just focus on race so It can be much harder. + You only have 1 boost per lap. And the first F-zero is even harder. For me at least.
