The SNES iteration of the Port Town theme has been in every game besides the 3D games (only X and GX). Not to say that X and GX aren’t good they’re both fantastic as a matter of fact but the SNES is so iconic.

@bonestorm99 I personally think Sega pulled GX off. But I can see where you're coming from. It's kind of a love-it-or-hate-it game. Especially with the difficulty. THAT I think Sega should have dealt away with. And actually, I think F-Zero could be done right on the 3DS. The thing practically has the power of the Gamecube, and maybe even a bit more. Believe me, I saw Super Street Fighter IV on it at GameStop, and it looked really good. And control shouldn't be an issue, either.

@bonestorm99 Who says the next game has to be done by Sega? Maybe Monster Games could do it. Excite Truck was good, and I hear Excite Bots is supposed to be even better (I've never played it). Excite Truck also had a sweet rock soundtrack, so they would be likely to do something like this. Here's hoping for an F-Zero on the WiiU or 3DS. (Hopefully with a track editor.
