Wow, this was one of the better clip shows I've seen, the only better one I can think of is The Ember Island Players in Avatar, but that was kind of a parody episode.

So, in a way, the Falcon who brought the data of the reactor mights, to Steward, could be Phoenix in disguise. Sure, he's not shown at all, in the anime, but, remember that in GX, the Rainbow Phoenix is both a time machine, and a race machine. How he got into a hold of the Blue Falcon afterwards is a mystery, though. Just a theory, but, hey, who knows? Maybe?

That end section where the Mobile Task Force go to Tank was incredibly rushed as well. It's like "Let's go!" And then they were there and then Zoda was there with them, literally in the span of 20 seconds. How they got ahead of Zoda in the first place made no sense either.

He was created BECAUSE Ryu went into the Cold sleep(And beat Black Shadow), Because Zoda(almost killing him and putting into Cold sleep), Because Black Shadow(was defeated by Ryu) But at the same time made and sent Zoda back... Because Ryu. It's a Time loop that works in on itself, because it... made itself happen. Time's fucking weird man. It's like Back to the Future meets Terminator. But with Racing.

WSilvermane There is no catalyst, no way for the loop to START. Without zoda in the past, ryu wouldn't be there in the future to make black shadow create zoda. Either black shadow created zoda for a different reason, sent him into the past, got ryu put in cold sleep, to fight black shadow, who created zoda to go back in time to kill ryu. Or ryu was put in cold sleep for a different reason, became a problem for black shadow, and they created zoda to go back in time and kill him, but put him in cold sleep.

Kei Romenan I figured it out in bed last night. In 2051, ryu is 23 years old. 13 years later, he is put into cold sleep at the age of 36. In 2201, he is revived as the first captain falcon to fight black shadow. Because of this, black shadow creates zoda, who goes back in time to kill ryu. However, that creates an alternate timeline (B), and does not affect the current timeline (A). Later, (I forget the year, but I'll go with this) in 2251A, captain falcon realizes he cannot win, and goes back to 2201B (as history had been changed), to give doctor stewart the plans for the dragon bird, and instructions to revive himself, ryu suzaku. In 2051B, zoda arrives and puts ryu into cold sleep earlier than expected, at the age of 23. Fast forward to 2201B, captain falcon has left back to 2251A, and zoda has been revived, who then kills andy summers. In response, the government revives andy summers to give them a captain falcon in their timeline. Shortly after in 2202, doctor stewart found out that there was a cop that fought zoda in the past, and decides he is the hero captain falcon told him to revive. This young ryu also proves to be a problem for black shadow, so he creates zoda to go back in time to kill him, finally starting the stable time loop.

@@KinneKitsune So in timeline A, Falco=Ryu is put in cold sleep at the age of 36. He defeated Black Shadow. => Black Shadow creates Zoda to defeat Ryu and sent him in the past, creating timeline B. In timeline B, Falco cannot win by himself and gives D. Stewart the plans for the Dragon Bird, as the instruction to revive himself. But because of Zoda, he had to be put in cold sleep earlier, at the age of 23. The reason why is to fight Zoda. After that, I am completely lost.

I thought it was just "Black Shadow knew Ryu would be a problem for his plans well in advance." Kinda like knowing this ancient prophecy of a hero rising up and thwarting his evil plans in some way or another. And so when Black Shadow found out who this man was and which timeline he was in, he sent Zoda back in time to deal with him, unaware that in doing so Ryu would just be put into cold sleep and revived in his current time. Which...OK Black Shadow has this uncanny ability to time travel you'd think he'd just abuse that to ensure his victory.

Well, this is about where I fall off being invested in the plot. The 'Black Shadow sends Zoda to the past to stop Ryu' bit was over the top, contrived, paradoxical, and silly. There were probably other ways to handle it (I at first was about to believe that Zoda was just a clone). But now, cosmic powers from the beginning of time with these Reactor Might Macguffins? Good vs evil? What is this, F-Zero GX story mode 2.0? It's really goofy and not much less contrived or overblown than GX was, as fun as both are. Eh, not everything needs to be well-written to be entertaining I guess. Still a fun time. Thanks for subbing the whole series btw!

Slight issue with the plot (disclaimer, more than slight) So Zoda was sent into the past to kill Ryu because Ryu was an issue for Black Shadow... But Ryu didn’t live long enough to be an issue for Black Shadow unless he got killed some other way, and if he got killed by Zoda the same way he would’ve been killed either way, then why would Black Shadow not just kill Ryu himself in the past? He could leave Zoda around I guess, but what would the point of that have been?

I kinda like this episode, it's one of the better clipshows I watched to be honest, but it has some problems. The whole "Legend of Falcon" it's weird and the sudden time travel aspect doesn't click well with me nowadays (the first time I watched this anime I actually liked the time travel stuff). Also, I didn't watched the part with Puppet Bart before, and wow! THEY ACTUALLY SAID SOMETHING ABOUT RYU'S FAMILY. I always thought that he was born in Japan and moved to USA because of his family. - V.D.

This kind of thing actually happened in a few of the games. more story then racing though. Falcon beat the "Creators", who made the powers/mights and Planet Earth, in a battle of Light and Darkness in a race, kinda like how the Mights and stuff are in the anime. Cap' just isn't some racer or bounty hunter, that's just his "cover" of sorts. He's a being of Justice meant to protect the Galaxy from being destroyed by amazing powers like Black Shadow, Deathborn, and so on. He IS Justice. He is a Super Hero.

@@KinneKitsune maybe not mind _control_ but definitely manipulation. Zoda used his on Miss Killer to bring up memories that were supposed to be "erased", so maybe it can implant foreign memories as well. Making people think things like "I've been serving Black Shadow since I was born" makes it easier to keep them in line.

It’s a sci-fi anime with touches of magic in it, I don’t know why people are so hung up on this reveal lol, especially with all the crazy bs the reactors could already do. I liked this episode, it explained a lot and used the clips in a useful way rather than being redundant
