You are doing a great job presenting all of this. And of course these season's mods are awesome. My only regret at that point with AMS2 is that it is not possible to simulate an exact historical starting grid . Well done !

Thank you! What exactly are you missing? Yes, not all tracks of the 1990 season are there, and some of the car bodies are not very close to their real-life counterparts. But everthing else is imho top notch and pretty authentic.

I miss the choice of not doing qualification, choose a starting grid as it was in the reality, choose a real driver/car, and start from his real place on the real event. I hope it is more clear. Realy easy to do with content manager/ asseto corsa . I would like to be able to do the same thi g with ams2

Great. I just don´t really know how to do it. 😂 Do you mak it with custom AI ? Exemple interlagos 1991 Senna on pôle, patrese second, berger 3rd ,... 4th ( don´t remember 😅), Alexis 5th, me (prost) 6th , ... How do you do that ???

@@Manu68-Simracing Yes, you will have to do it with the Custom AI XML file, tweaking values therein, here obviously the Qualifying Skill. However, please note that you will still have to do the session and that there is still a slight randomness in it. So even if Senna is on 1.0, that does not necessarily mean that he will have pole. If you skip the session, the grid is calculated based on the same values, yet still with a certain amount of randomness.

Great content as always Timo. Reiza need to allow the immersion modding team to override the pit crew liveries then this will be the ultimate in terms of immersion IMO

Nice video. Yes, dirty air effect is working since quite a while, but only for the player. I guess the AI is not much affected because of it's simplified physics.

If you like authenticity.. ISO is now running a 1986 league, where each car are as they appeared at each race with every update (or lack thereof) for each race. Coupled with the fenominal turbo emulation of AMS1.. and we have a winner!

I also started watching F1 on TV in 1990 and became a big fan. The ams2 F1 Gen3 is a bit weird as the M1 with V12 engine is combined with manual gearbox. In reality, Ferrari already had a semi-automatic shifter. In the game, the M2 has semi-automatic and V8 engine. That combo also did not exist in 1990. Anyway, will try the mod today! Also, check out the great GT1 cars of late 90s. I like them!

True, there are still some issues. Even more than the engine/gearbox mess I pity the fact that none of the models is shaped after the Ferrari 641 - one of the most beautiful F1 cars ever imho.

Endlich released, wie viele andere habe ich schon seit Monaten darauf gewartet. Das Agip Logo auf der Rückseite des Heckflüges des Ferraris fehlt noch. Habe das für mich schon gefixt, Alain wird das beim nächsten Update wohl auch machen. Kommen wohl auch noch ein paar Extra-Autos, einen Screenshot vom berüchtigten "Life Racing", der nie die Vorqualifikation schaffte, habe ich auf Discord schon gesehen. Die V12 und V8 (Modell 1 und 4), haben übrigens das gleiche Template, man kann die Liveries also für beide Automodelle verwenden. Habe mir den Coloni in M1 statt eines Larrousse aktiviert und den Osella in M4 statt des 2. Brabhams. Der Osella hat einen Bug im Custom AI File; der Teamname ist falsch geschrieben, "Ossella" statt "Osella", aber das kann man schnell selbst ausbessern.

Bei irgendeinem Backmarker fehlt anscheinend das Helm-Template - zumindest wurde bei mir der generische schwarz-gelbe gezeigt. Hast du schon längere Rennen gemacht und kannst sagen, ob die DNF-Rate realistisch ist?

@@TimoDick Ein paar kurze Rennen à 15 Minuten habe ich absolviert, mit random failures = sync to race. Es fallen fast immer ein paar aus. Habe mir das Custom File angepasst, z. B. Berger im Rennen ein wenig langsamer gemacht. Und auch ein wenig experimentiert. Mit reliability = - 1.0 oder -0.9 scheiden die betroffenen Piloten sicher aus, in der Autoklasse braucht man offenbar keine extrem niedrigen Werte, die Karren sind von Haus aus nicht sehr standfest.

Does the handling on the wheel have a nice feeling of grip when cornering? Like a bit of vibration or something? Hope it's a lot better than floaty codemasters f1 handling

I personally like the ffb and handling of the classic F1 cars in AMS2. Yet ,imho it's actually not fair to compare 1990s F1 with modern F1. One could compare the F-Ultimate Gen2 with the Codemasters model though. But I am not an expert here, since I do not own/play the EA F1 games.
