It's always fantastic how Hamilton can brake. He breaks very late and always makes the ABS himself when he locks out and by doing this, he doesn't even miss the apex. Superb!

Yes Lewis has an uncanny ability to steer a car through a lockup or drift. He just knows how to go fast 👍
@michelecompagno48618 жыл бұрын
jraybay he's a very instinctive driver and as you said not very smooth. We don't know yet if to be the fastest, you need to be smooth or aggressive. Vettel in his drive is very smooth, uses round lines and very strong in breaking and of course a great qualifier
@michelecompagno48618 жыл бұрын
+jraybay Yes, I usally watch Seb's head on the On Board Cameras and you're right. And yes. Everyone included me, thought that Hamilton would've struggle in this new era of F1, because we knew his aggressive style. If you pay attenction during last year races, he behaved like true hybrid: conservative when managing the result and went like a hammer in qualifying and to extend the gap on Sunday. But I've always thought that Fernando Alonso is the fastest nowadays

This is back in the days when Mclaren were the best in season developers. At the start of this season this car was 2-3 seconds off the pace dependent on the track, because Mclaren poured everything into winning the title in 08 and were caught out by double/triple diffusers like others were. Dispite all that, this car ended the season as one of the fastest on the grid out developing cars like the Williams, Brawn and Toyota by 3-4 seconds , which in F1 terms is a slam dunk! Now look at Mclaren!!
@kudason5 жыл бұрын
Judging by Heikki's performance over the year, McLaren never got anywhere near the top end. Actually, Heikki got worse. He achieved a season best of 4th in Spain, 5th in China and Hungary. This worsened to 6s and 7s and then fell further to 11s and 12s over the last three races. Hamilton was consistently on the podium then, and could have won Abu Dhabi if not for the brake failure in the race.

The 2009 car was just awful i still dont know how Lewis managed to get a win with that thing
@jraybay3 жыл бұрын
@@ale9963 It became a lot better at Nurburgring. I think Lewis could've won that too if Webber didn't slash his tire at the start. I don't think that car ever evolved into something very good, but it gave Lewis enough confidence to push. He could've won Nurburgring, maybe Valencia without the confusion during pitstop, and Abu Dhabi without the brake failure. Quite a turnaround by the team

the sound when it revs up is nice and harmonic, but when it reaches maximum rpm it sounds very high pitched and peaked, a bit like the ferraris from 2010 to 2013, not that nice, Brawn GP sounded better

Ah, that's his pole position lap. A very satisfying lap to watch honestly, a sexy lap from a sexy car. Of course I was fan of Red Bull and Sebastian back then (still Red Bull fan but more fan of Charles) but I appreicated the efforts of McLaren that year. Spectacular and a shame he couldn't finish the race.

Just cuz FIA finally didn't give an advantage to Lewis like in the rest of the year? OH WAIT the cheater could just cut the corner on the opening lap when another car puts a strong attack on him when fighting (Hulk got penalty for the same thing with Perez in 2017 and rightfully so, why not Lewis? ) This was Max' championship and I hate the track too, but that's because it's now ruined with boring fast corners whilst it was way more technical from 2009-2020.
