I really love that the last three years have been variations on a theme, Mark. These themes always get me amped to fire up a session, even if it's just hot lapping around my local circuit (COTA). That there's an evolution and clear through line to your work is not unnoticed, I promise. Well done, sir.

Thanks - yep, I wanted to keep some consistency in there especially for those who may listen to all three years worth. It's a shame in a way to have to finish with it, but onwards and upwards to bigger and better things.... and hopefully dealing with people who actually understand the musical process rather than trying to ruin someones career to better their own.

Man, I miss you being in charge of the soundtrack. You and Ian before you were excellent and the two of you are a big part of what made the pre-2018 games memorable.

Ah, thanks... I was actually in charge of the sound design as well for the majority of the games, but it looks like they've done a great job on 2018. Visually it looks like it's taken a massive step up as well, so it's all good. I hope you continue to enjoy playing the F1 games!

Those sweeping pads at the start sound like they're straight out of Populous the Beginning.

Yeah, I've always liked those sorts of pad sounds. Also, at 1:46 onwards, you may recognise a Dungeon Keeper FX sound which plays as a sort of pitched snare drum

Interestingly, this one reminds me of Ian Livingstone before 2:34 After 2:34, its like you came in and changed the soundtrack completely. At 4:28, Mark Knight resigns. People loved his style of soundtrack but he had to. But the thing is, end of this piece has very hopefull rhymes :p

you don't get many instances of music like this these days in games. It's either very Hollywood or just fast and overly infested by drums and arpeggio. Very few people do the art these days so this is rather refreshing. I'm releasing an album probably in the next few months spanning many years and it was thanks to the great work from the talented tunesmiths we heard back when music was often itself just as important as the games we played. Good work

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, I’ve been vocal over the years in how the CD-ROM killed game music years ago. Since then it seems that too many games take the predictable route of the hybrid orchestra sounds..... and can you remember any of those soundtracks? Whilst likely very well composed and orchestrated, probably not. I always try and keep a bit of “me” no matter what the music brief I’m working too. Good luck with the album release! Would be good to hear it.
