AI actually trying to overtake eachother, but also messing up is super fun to see! Gonna help spice up the races. I've always had midrace fatigue in the earlier games because the AI barely moves around when you dont see them

literally! i was 3rd. my teammate was like 15 seconds ahead, fighting 1st. didn't get the move done, even with a superior car. I dnf from a mistake and simulation has him win by around 4 seconds. ridiculous

@@Kirikou-eg2te i would like to disagree, sure i want 110 ai making musitakes, but the amount of mistakes the ai made in this game is just too much, you don't see real f1 drivers making this amount of mistakes. the perfect solution for me is that every ai level you go up, the amount of mistakes falls, but never goes down to zero. so if you were playing at 0 ai, you would see them make mistakes (lockups, going wide, going deep, crashing etc) more than you would with 110, but the 110 ai doesn't drive perfectly. or maybe the 110 would make less mistakes, but the few mistakes that it does make are really bad mistake (spinning into gravel, ramming into the back of another car, causing both to dnf) that cause either the ai or several around them to dnf. or better yet just have a slider.

@@spiyder while i partially agree, i think you should consider that the number of incidents per race shouldn’t necessarily change so much as the pace of the field. a better solution would be for the ai to aim for creating an average amount of incidents per race to emulate more realistic performance in average, with the option (a slider) to influence the average number of incidents per race. things like deep braking, locking up etc. 100% should be reduced with higher AI levels, but there should still be a baseline of incidents per race regardless, similar to real life. it’s objective that the current AI is stale, extremely conservative and robotic with its approach to race strategy. Definitely room for improvement, so this seems like a welcomed change

I like to see the AI making mistakes. But Codemasters need to find a good balance between mistakes and to many mistakes and there where a lot of them in this race xD To be fair, I once had 3 Safety Cars in Imola by lap 12, so maybe Imola is even now in F1 2021 pretty hard or the AI or something and we're on a wip too here in F1 22. But nevertheless something I like but the balance is important ^^

I really hope that they fixed the strategy on 50% race, in the previous games if someone with a good car gets eliminated in Q2 he has basically won the race cuz he's doing 1 stop that is op VS 2 stop, the way to counter this would be making the Hard really really slower and making the AI more aggressive and able to overtake to gain time with 2 stop, witch seems a things they have done so I'm really excited for this year game

@@claxxz1 Despite that difference in strategy would be nice to have for a change in the F1 games, every time you race against AI they all start on soft and go to whatever strategy is generated by the game, all AI drivers stopping in the same lap. I drove a race on F1 2016 a short while ago and there where so many different strategies, drivers starting on different tires but also different drivers changing to other tires or going longer or shorter on a stint, so much better.

The one downside with this game, is that the AI could get out the car and stab you and they still wouldn’t get a time penalty.

1 tip. Don't use 21 style setups. Rear wing is a lot less efficient than the front wing. You want to go lower rear than front. Stiffer front than rear. To balance that out. Unlocked diff in fast corners, locked diff in slow. 55 80 range i would say.

that safety car trick is actually doing more harm here than good, because you open a huge gap in front of the driver your trying to overtake which you then need to close if you can get the move done

It depends to though on whether they’d get DRS shortly after it ends though. I don’t mind trying it because even if i don’t overtake i can get them the next lap when they don’t have slipstream/drs otherwise it can end up being a drs train. But of course main objective is to try overtake to begin with and i didn’t get it either time. Off camera i’ve done it a couple times so it can work just you have to nail the timing/momentum when it ends

I hope the AI mistakes isnt just a 110% AI think since at lower difficulties in 2021 the AI barely makes any mistakes around say 90ish they dont spin once or make a single mistake which is frustrating if ur running no TC. Would you be able to test lower difficulties see if they improved AI?

The AI in this Beta version is horrible. This game wants to be closer to a sim rather than an arcade, but all I see is Need for Speed like divebombs, and overly aggressive driving. Last year, the AI was just about too passive, but much more realistic than whatever this is. But it's still a lot of time, I'm sure they'll address that
