He's in a competitive car...the 3rd best car. He is talented but he is still immature. He just had pole in Mexico, got a 3 grid penalty and during the race decided he wanted to gain it all back immediately and banged wheels, got a puncture trying to overtake in the stadium section when he could have passed on an upcoming straight with DRS. You could put him in a Merc and if that attitude doesn't change neither will the results.

Most F1 driver started to kart racing as young like Max 4 years of age. Then they join formula Renault, then Formula 2. Some whose lucky get to join Red Bull development program to F1. As for Max, both his parents are racing driver. That being said, he's the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

@BrownOnline
@BrownOnline 4 жыл бұрын
@@h77simracing20 I know nothing about Rich, when he asked about "pit stop" being apart of Max's vernacular I took that as Rich trying to subtlety hint to Max to be real and not some fake PR robot. Most of his questions seemed to be designed to uncover the story behind "Max, the serious F1 driver." I'm a big fan of Max and I think Rich did a great job interviewing him, there was no sense of what Kiei claims in the interview.
@Hieillua
@Hieillua 4 жыл бұрын
@@DS-ld4uv Max even changed the word FOOTBALL to SOCCER in this interview because he understands how Americans speak. Max grew up with the English language like I did. My first and second language aren't English. I could also follow what Rich was saying perfectly fine. It just seems like Rich assumed he wasn't following along. Max does dozens of interviews each weekend for more than 5 years now. He knows whats going on. ''British English'' is just English. Max is also a modern kid and understands American slang just as good.

I’m assuming all these comments on how bad of an interviewer Rich was in this interview are F1 fans who don’t know Rich Eisen. Not criticizing Verstappen, but he is a HEAVILY coached representative of F1. Cliche after cliche after cliche. Eisen was trying to get to the human, seeing if Verstappen was a good hang, but Max didn’t deviate from the programmed, F1 approved responses. Rich injects humor, sarcasm, and overall chill vibes in all his interviews. He was trying to ask max questions outside of the normal press tour repetitiveness, but Max just switched into robot-mode. This was a bad interview, but it’s because Rich sensed this dude would only give him cliched responses and probably cut it short because Max was boring. Nothing to do with a perceived lack of knowledge of F1 on Rich or Americans in general. There are plenty of us who follow F1. If you look at the vast history and catalogue of Eisen show guests in the past, Rich always brings on people outside of the NFL or sporting worlds onto the show. It’s what makes it such a great show and Rich such a great interviewer. He gets to the human side and gets guests to break out of the cliched responses. Don’t assume just because he is primarily from the NFL and sports world in general, that he isn’t multifaceted and all encompassing. Too bad Max couldn’t relax and be himself, would have been interesting to see the real dude behind the F1 machine. I think people would have liked to see that.

But I have some 'constructive feedback': Please stop repeating: "At The End of The Day" too many times in all international interviews (it is getting annoying) and avoid phrases like: "I have to be honest now" (...) which implies you normally can not be honest (most famous people tend to use that phrase without realizing what they implying they can normally not be honest) ... I know you do not take any advice from others so you can be 100% authentic & genuine ... I totally dig that, but consider what I suggest bro! Keep up the good fight, most critics just envy you and your ('Orange Army') supporters ;)
