F1 Esports - Marcel Kiefer (Accidentally) Exposes F1 Esports for Recording then Streaming Races

Hello everyone in this video we have respected, fast F1 Esports racer for Red Bull, Marcel Kiefer (video not about him by the way) being questioned about qualification, where he accidentally begins to recap the F1 Esports races. These races are advertised as live esports rounds, not taped/streamed.
You have the casters supporting it as a live race with the dialogue, it's clear cut recorded, and everyone knew, and now it's a deadlock confirmation right here. I don't think Marcel is to blame here, even remotely. Marcel is a good guy, but these guys are calling this esports, a name that took forever to get its status as something serious.
Formula 1 is supposed to be the pinnacle, why are they letting this happen?

On a 2 raceday the first race is prerecorded. The second qualifying+race is live! By prerecording the race on the same day, just earlier, the drivers are able to get a small break before they go into the 2nd race! :)

Oliver Krajcár depends where you are in the world mate I’ve been to football matches in other countries and the delay was different for where I was Germany to where I was from UK and where my friend was on holiday Canada... same goes with the F1 races I mean it’s not as massive as 15 minutes 😂 but it can be a solid 3 minutes difference

I'm very certain that the first races of each round(pre-covid) were pre-recorded then streamed during the live shows, with the next few races of the night being live. With how restrictions are now with live-events and with the drivers at home, it probably made sense for them to pre-record most if not all the races of the round.

Honestly - most of the leagues are WAY better than "Esports". - they are going live - people are racing there for fun - and it's more interesting to watch. In a game with this many bugs and glitches I think it’s a good idea to prerecord it. That way you don’t get races where half of the grid gets disconnected and you have to sit and wait for 10-15 minutes before they are ready again. But yeah this is major cringe ahaha

Anyone surprised? No one is dumb enough to do anything live anymore. Imagine one of the guys going Grosjean and just ramming into half the grid for the hell of it. They need to make it entertaining. And it makes it easier to edit together all the best parts after a race than to try and keep up with the action during the race. It's not real life F1, there's actually some overtaking in the esports races. (Well, apart from the crap tracks anyways.)

We already know that the races are pre recorded. That is why there are more live graphics, etc.. He just spoiled the result of the first race, not the way the handle it. Who ever watches this video is welcome to look at this situation however they wish, i’m not feeding false information. I am talking about recording, and then streaming races, which they have done, do now and are more than likely continue going to continue to do. It’s my opinion and who knows, maybe it’s the same for others that Esports should be live start to finish. There is an entire community of racers in league racing (not just the one I am in) who feel this way, a major community perception is that this is being done to shroud the poor quality of the game as well.

@@Strifium Of course it is to prevent game glitches. But if it is for a more enjoyable coverage, then let them do it. Nothing worse than someone , e.g. the first place driver getting a DC on a last lap. Especially since they´re all driving from home, it s a precautionary solution, that helps the drivers, which is obviously good. Of course the games true quality is hidden because of that, but man, would you rather have a clean competition or would you rather handle it all like the amateur leagues are doing it. I mean we are talking about a lot of money those guys are driving for, when instead we league racers, drive for nothing but glory.

These racers can't even have a fair/clean competition whether it's recorded regardless because the game in itself isn't even stable to support Multiplayer let alone competitive esports. The game isn't polished, at all. A lot of leagues (and there are good "non-amateur" leagues btw) that have that support, membership & multiple racers i'm sure would be beyond happy to provide prize pools, even if out of pocket to promote more intensity, but you actually can't. Not a single league is able to guarantee the integrity of a championship and have money on the line. The game makes it impossible with it's issues/bugs. The bottomline is, we could have a very healthy Esports scene in F1, the potential is there. They need the right people operating it, and pushing forward, they need some long-term thinkers and they need to really think about fixing their game. This video, a great portion of people who watch it agree.
