Throw back in time, great to see this preserved. I've recently visited the circuit and shot some 360 footage. Les Amis du Circuit de Gueux are doing a fine job there to restore the buildings, so future generations can enjoy the history of F1 racing. It's a place where regularly spontaneous cars & coffees appear.

Listen to 360 I’ve been to the current site twice. It’s well preserved and a very evocative location. Well done to all involved !

I’ve seen a documentary about this and its preservation. It’s amazing to see such a pivotal piece of history being treated with such care and respect.

Wonderful. The "disappointing debut" (two years behind original schedule) of the T251, the final Grand Prix Bugatti, was also its swansong. Two T251s were built, the first of the pair being the one that took the flag at Reims; perhaps surprisingly both survive, in the Musee National de l'Automobile in Mulhouse, France. (Along with several dozen other Bugattis including two of the famous Royales.) I must visit France someday...

I am living in UK, I am wanting to locate a man in Reims by the name of Arnaud Michael Delaunay Arnaud is the Son of the first ever British F1 world champion Mike Hawthorn, Arnaud's mothers name is Jaqueline, Arnaud has an aunt by the name of Monique, Monique used to work for a dentist in Reims, she apparently had a house behind Reims Cathedral, I would be forever eternally grateful for any help or information you or anyone can give to me

Great footage. I visited the remains of the Reims-Gueux circuit last summer. Great to see the grandstands packed with spectators, while they are now empty. Also good to see the complete pits, because a part of the pits has been demolished in 1972 after the last races.

And people are complaining about Baku's 2km "too long straight" because it's not F1 anymore but drag racing... They hardly know anything about the real roots of F1.

The drivers drifting around corners on a track they averaged 122mph every lap…drivers were cut from a different cloth back then. Nowadays grand prix drivers can’t stay between the lines, and they whine about having to 😂

Within four years seven of the drivers in this race died in crashes, Peter Collins, Eugenio Castelotti, Jean Behra ( the first three finishers in this race), Mike Hawthorn (road crash), Louis Rosier,Harry Schell and Alfonso De Portago.
@williamford95643 жыл бұрын
@@andyelliott8027 You see those cars with no roll hoops and if they had seat belts, drivers didn't use them anyway. They were death traps. Collins and Behra died after being ejected from their cars and De Portage was crushed when his car fell on him after a crash at the Mille Miglia.
