I think there are two types of Team Orders, Ferrari team order in 2002 didn’t make sense because they were so far ahead, but the one in 2010 made sense as Alonso needed those 7pts a lot

NOT 2002.. 2001…. MAYBE 2004 WAS THE SAME IN A GAME AND IT WAS MEAR OF WINNING FOR MICHAEL!! IF RUBEN WOULDNT LOSE THE 1ST PLACE HE WOULDNT HAVE TO GIVE HIS POSITION!!! RUBEN WAS GREAT AND ALSO FERRARI BACK THEN HELPED HIM TOO WHEN HE NEEDED BUT NO ONE IS SAYING SOMETHING..

Well you've also got to understand that they weren't dealing with the same blanket ban on team orders in 2018 that they were subject to back in 2010. Not sure exactly what year the rule changed (I looked it up, it was immediately following the 2010 season), but 2018 was the year Valtteri got team-ordered to death by Mercedes, costing him potentially two wins in what turned out to be a winless season for him.

@josiewallace7968 yh sure he might've been pissed, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the best choice in that scenario, you fight your teammate and waste big points for your team, or you don't and get those points

What this video highlights is Ferrari have in the past handled team orders in a dreadful way. If Felipe was slower, pass him on track then without any help if you're that much faster. As for 2002 Austria well.. less said about that disgrace the better.

I'm torn on team orders because, on the one hand, they make the competitive element of the sport a bit of a joke. On the other hand, championships are won over a whole season and you have to look at the bigger picture. Barichello and Massa got screwed and they knew it, but they would have known going in that was the Ferrari strategy. I think the really ridiculous ones are people like Vertsappen and Vettel who know that this is something the team needs, who know the strategy and refuse to go along with it. Yeah, it sucks. But you knew that going in. You might show that you're a superior driver, but you also show that you're unable to put the team before yourself.
@benjithomas1123 ай бұрын
It shouldn't be allowed since it messes up driver performance evaluation. Some orders can work without spoiling the racing so how about a tactical point system. where if the team wants to give an order they must subtract tactical points form the drives total per year and once they run out the team is not allowed to give any more orders to that driver. This way team orders can still be somewhat allowed but there will be a limit to stop "let driver A pass driver B for the championship" since by that point they will be out of TP
@BigLouJo_XVI2 ай бұрын
Yeah, it’s really no secret that listening to team orders are clearly the most corrupt thing existing in any form of motorsport alive today, especially Formula 1. I think the FIA should make a very strict rule in that sport which forbids teams to tell their drivers how to handle their business on every track that’s on its schedule…I mean, think about it. If team orders never existed in F1 at all, then maybe Michael Schumacher would’ve won at least 2, 3, or even 4 less driver’s championships in his career than what he has under his resume in real life. If team orders never existed in F1 at all, then Red Bull Racing’s “reign of dominance” would’ve probably looked less dominant than ppl would like to believe. Can you imagine how much more exciting and competitive F1 would be if their teams were forbidden by the FIA from bossing their drivers around the way they do every single year?

Hamilton did the right thing in Abu Dhabi 2016 imo. Mercedes had already won the constructors championship so surely they could have let Hamilton and Rosberg settle it on the track (without hitting each other of course). Anyone who says they wouldn't have done the same is a liar.

Dumb team no offence lando should have been able to take first. If he did, that gap before Brazil would have been even less, making lando hungrier to fight, and apply more pressure on max. Whether max would have been affected who knows, but lando and McLaren would have been even hungrier than they were
@MikeCobweb2 ай бұрын
Pfft, no. Lando and McLaren bottled a lot more than simply the Hungarian Grand Prix which is a result of them bottling it as well. One thing I agree with Lando about during that is when he said “You should have pitted him first.”
