well, actually the simplified aero rules is more challenging to Ferrari. they are used to complex aero setups. Mercedes isn't that good aerodynamically, but has the engine power that no one had the answer for it pre-2018. but the new rules on aero, really work best with Mercedes as they do not need to focus on the aerodynamics too much.

Yes, it's already bad as it is right now, but it'd be even worse if the teams could just do whatever they wanted. We'd have the Mercs, Ferraris and Red bulls being 5 Minutes ahead of everyone else, and there'd be absolutely no competition at all. As I said, it's already pretty bad, but that would just make it even worse. And a field that is that predictable and that uncompetitive just simply isn't fun to watch.

My money is on Bottas unless he either messes up or Lewis slowly builds up and overtakes him. Bottas has a 3-point lead so far, right, and has done better than Ham overall in 2019? I can only assume the way Lewis has stayed on top for so many years is to remain very consistent, so, I really have no idea how this year will turn out. I think it will be: Bottas, Ham, Vettel, then the rest of Ferrari and Red Bull (though somebody else could do better by the end because so much can happen and so much can go wrong with Red Bull and Ferrari). Though this seems to be how every single race and Q1/2 has turned out so far for 2019, although 2018 was a bit different, it was still fairly akin. Mercs ought to stay on top for the entire year and maybe even 2020, but who knows. I also would not be shocked if Lewis won in 2019 and 2020. Vettel has a chance to come back but his car seems to be much worse than Ham's. Who knows.

@@samuelthornton9179 For humor usage this commentary is fine but to be precise as F1 funs we have to be aware that Williams struggle at warming tires up and drivers grip is based on mechanical grip at low speed corners (which are still fast overall and wear in these area may be higher). It is also easier for them to make a mistake what Russels example shows.

It's quite obvious really i don't know how no one else seems to be noticing why Mercedes is dominating ferrari. It's all down to pirelli and there tyre choices so far this season. To start with pirelli got rid of the supersoft which was the tyre ferrari worked best on and kept the soft tyre the same as last year which Mercedes works best on. They have also been bringing a step harder tyre to every race this year for example 3 of the first 4 races of last year pirelli brought the ultra soft supersoft and soft were as this year those same races they brought the ultrasoft soft and medium. This is giving Mercedes the advantage because they work there tyres harder so can get temperature in the harder compounds were as ferrari struggles to do this. This is most obvious in qualifying as you will notice Mercedes going slower on the warm up lap than everyone else and ferrari have to go faster than most.
