Brilliant point by seb that on the kerbs they use at the Nurburgring, that should be the template for other tracks. Best way to enforce track limits, make the drivers go slower if they exceed them
@LethalWalou7 жыл бұрын
Yep, all that and still keeping safety in mind. Gravel is good at punishing but if something goes wrong it likes to make the cars roll like Alonso in Australia '16.

There is another solution. As where in normal traffic we have already cars with radars that can warn you when you cross the lines on the road, why not implement that into a F1 race car. The moment it crosses the line with 2 wheels equals in a power loss.

FIArrari corruption Nice nickname you have... what about RIA (red bull assistance) 2010-2013 plus mexico 2016 and MIA (mercedes assistance) since 2014?
@Myrvold7 жыл бұрын
The interesting thing there, as that the gravel in Australia did exactly what it is supposed to. If there had been asphalt there (not possible, it is an actual state park. It is beautiful to walk around!), Alonso would've smashed in to the barriers at high speed. As Whiting says, that asphalt slow down a car twice as fast "in a broad terms". This is not the case when a car is skidding along on it's floor though. When you look at accident when cars are not having 4 solid tyres on the asphalt, gravel slows down a car better than asphalt. Even with todays cars that are immensely strong, the cars are weakened from each impact. Alonso would've hit the barriers with a car that had already had more than one impact, which increases the danger of safety-cells failing. In the end he didn't hit the tyre wall at all in that corner.

Charlie was very firm, very strict, but also very fair. He was not afraid or shy about ruffling feathers, and some drivers said some really unkind things on their radios in the heat of the moment, but the instant they were out of the car, they would yank off their helmet, run over to Charlie, and apologize profusely and honestly, and he understood that to be the best of the best, sometimes you do need to vent in the heat of the moment. He didn't command respect, he earned it through honorable actions and honest, sometime brutally so (as in this video), views keeping the racing fair while also looking after safety,

@nemo787 жыл бұрын
He wasn't talking about improvement on sector time, but on lap time. Vettel had 0,3 sec gain on lap time but he wasn't gaining on that particular sector, and that's why he wasn't penalized. But after all, I think Seb's right. If they don't want to go back putting gravel or grass on exits, they should change the exit kerbs. The only way to stop drivers going off track is to make going off track slower than driving on track. If you can gain on driving off the track, I think most of the drivers will try to use it for their advantage. It is as simple as that.

And Charlie explained it to him in a way that even dense fuckers in this comment section should understand. And I'm talking about those people who complain about people getting advantage for going wide, which they didn't get.

LethalWalou You think so? Even in the last briefing he did this sorts thing. He just wants to be a prick.
@LethalWalou7 жыл бұрын
cfg_Forumic Your comment shows how fucking clueless you are and that you don't even watch the videos or you're just purely hating on the guy. In the last briefing he didn't even say anything, just sat there next to Vettel. In briefing before that he brought up the steering wheel issue and asked to clear up why they need to leave them. Others also addressed the issue with seatbelts and used Hamilton as an example. So all that in mind, you are simply delusional and lying for calling him out. What in your mind did he do in last briefing that he deserves the hate?

Rightfully so exposing FIA's bias towards Ferrari. Respect for Hamilton.

Very interesting point from Vettel. Grosjean said some pretty good stuff as well. It was also interesting that Max complained a lot about the penalty after the race and during the week but he said nothing during the briefing.

I'm way behind the curve of this. Kimi being Kimi is so awesome though. He doesn't care, he just wants to race, tell him what he can and can't do and leave him alone lol

And yet they didn't adress the most important thing: Penalties and consistency. And what is qualified as gaining an advantage, is it just position or does time count as well? Look at Mexico last year, Lewis cut the corner quite obviously, and gained a few seconds, in the first set of corners, and is not penalized, just like Nico did, however he gained less of an advantae, and Max, who does the same later on in the race, is penalized, that's just wrong. And that's just one of the many examples.
@jackodees17657 жыл бұрын
The penalty was deserved, no doubt, but when you penalize one driver and do not penalize another for similar offences it's getting kinda weird. I've seen both Bottas and Ricciardo leaving the track, just as Sainz, but they did not get penalized even though they gained an advantage in time. But then again it was agains Ferrari, so that doesn't help.
