I find it much easier to drill a hole of the proper size in each corner of the needed cutout. It allows for a much nicer finished job.

I recently bought the rough country rear bumper with the led light cubes exactly like the ones you just installed but their brand, I wired my lights into my bed led light wires so I have the option of turning them on with the factory cargo light button beside the headlight knob or also the factory button mounted In the bed. I upgraded the reverse light with a high power led replacement. So far I'm happy with the function. Just figured I'd give you a different option . I debated on wiring them into the reverse light wires on the harness . But liked the option of using them when needed .

When I finally do get them wired, (hopefully soon...) they'll be on a controller in the cab.

@@StephenF. Really easy to do have to take taillights out and you can access the plug harness for the bed led lights and splice into it there . I like it being on the factory control switch and the bed button also controls them . Makes it a clean no running wires up to the cab . There's a access where the wires run up thru behind the taillights where the bed lights wiring is already running.

@@phillipmccarter7471 I don't have the bed lights. Plus my controller will do a few other things with them as well.

@@StephenF. Ah I see I thought they put them in all trim levels in 18 and up mine is a xlt.
@StephenF.5 жыл бұрын
@@phillipmccarter7471 It's an option for all trim levels I believe. Mine is an STX so fairly bare bones. Only thing it doesn't have that I want is Leather seats, but katskinz makes them for a very reasonable price.

@78ginop3 жыл бұрын
@@ricmelyair on my truck it has the 7pin wire harness. I tapped into the reverse wire. Now they come on when I back up. Also have a switch in my dash to turn on when needed

I had done that to my 2001 Ford F-150 too. Does the lights interfere with your back up sensor thanks

why do you cover your plate? I see people doing that all the time?? do you drive around with them covered? LOL!!! looks like you made a simple job way to difficult?

Takes all this time to do the install and doesn't bother to take 2 seconds to show how they look at night. Total failure!

The even bigger fail is I never even got them hooked up on this truck 🤣 I’ll do better on the new truck once I get the plan in motion.
