不過他們還是有升級啊 In 2022, the United States Air Force announced the modernization of 608 of its F-16 Block 40 and F-16 Block 50 to F-16 Block 70 (F-16V) standard.
The total value for the initial delivery order is $4,941,105,246 and will be awarded on the same date. The initial delivery order is for 90 aircraft, 第一批要交貨的 90 台 F-16 的採購價是 49.4 億美元。 以此訊息換算,F-16V的「空機價」約在5488萬美金(2020年幣值)。

I know that some native-Chinese speakers have trouble pronouncing letters like V, R, and L distinctively (because most Chinese dialects lack such sounds), but aren't you using AI-voicing already? It's a bit grating to the ear to continue hearing "Vee" pronounced as "Wee". I would think AI could correct that mispronunciation easily. Another reason why the USAF doesn't buy new F-16Vs is that they're doing what the Taiwanese air force has done--they're converting the existing USAF F-16C/Ds to essentially the V standard, by upgrading the radar to AESA and adding other advanced avionics. That way instead of spending $100mil or more on a new plane, you may get similar improvement with say $30mil of upgrades. However, note that the USAF IS buying another "new" Gen 4 fighter in the F15EX, which similarly is heavily upgraded (essentially a new fighter that retains the same old looks) with a much longer projected service life (20,000 hours--that's about 3 times longer than normal fighters) and can do things that stealthy designs can't (e.g., operating as a missile/bomb "truck" by carrying 20000+ lbs of munitions). They're planning to buy 100 or so F15EX to replace the old F15C/Ds and some F15Es, so it's not a small investment in a "4th Gen" aircraft (albeit one with a lot of 5 Gen features). The F15C/Ds are used mostly by the US Air National Guard for homeland air defense, where they're unlikely to meet many stealthy counterparts (not now, but in the future; Su57 and J20 are fake 5th Gen fighters), mostly recon planes or old bombers like the Tu95s, which they can obviously handle easily. Those counter-stealth missions are mostly reserved for the F22 and F35, and in the future NGAD and FAXX (Navy). Finally, where is the source of your claim that USAF is getting commercial pilots as recruits to fly its F35s? At least in the past, I've heard that most F35 pilots had to be experienced top operators of F15s or F16s, those who are better than their peers. If you have a source to share that the USAF has managed to get more or even most of its new F35 pilots from commercial airline pilots or those without prior USAF experience, I'd like to see that. Clearly F35's operation caters to the internet age, but because it also has a lot more functions (e.g., ability to act as a mini-AWAC or electronic warfare plane), I'm not sure whether the OVERALL cognitive demand is smaller than flying a 4th Gen fighter. But you are correct that the physical demand would be less in flying a F35, because it simply can't do as much aerobatically as an F16 (or F15/18), the difference between flying 5 or 6 Gs versus 9 Gs or more is immense.
The main stream Air-Fighter is F-35s (A/B/C) for US Airforce/Navy and 1st tier Alliances ( NATO, Israel, Japan, Singapore and South Korea). Those F-16 C/D Block 70 (AKA F-16V) are aged combat technology which only for tier-3/tire-4 countries & place (Taipei) to be deployed about 160 unit. LM will not park many efforts on F-16V as below: Bahrain: 19 Slovakia: 14 Taipei: 66 Jordan: 12 Bulgaria: 8 TÜRKIYE : 40 (awarded in year 2023) As of today, March 2024, the US government has not yet purchased any F-16 C/D Block 70/72 aircraft for the US Air Force. Here's a breakdown of the current situation: • F-16 Block 70/72 (also known as F-16V): This is the latest and most advanced variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, offering various improvements over previous versions. • US Air Force: While the US Air Force currently operates numerous F-16 variants, including older Block 25 and Block 50/52 models, they haven't officially announced plans to acquire the F-16V. • Potential Future: The US government has, however, shown interest in the F-16V for other countries. For example, they approved a potential sale of 40 F-16Vs to Turkey in 2021, although the deal is currently pending due to political complexities. Therefore, while the US Air Force might consider the F-16V in the future, there are currently no confirmed purchases of this specific model by the US government.
