I always get associations to trains, rails, airports, docks and harbors when I'm listening to dub techno. I don't really know why, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one. Especially trains and rails. I got them even before I knew how much of this kind of music actually exists. I listened to Trentemøller and Lulu Rouge and had never heard anything else like it before. But especially when listening to Lulu Rouge I got those associations, which is also the closest to dub techno of the two. I guess there's something in the sound especially the chord stabs and the delays that gives me the associations. But it's funny that it's stuff like trains, airports and harbors. You know, trips, about getting away to another destination and arrive at that place.

Maybe because the train is like sound on a track, and poles and stuff on the sides are notes that come regularly, and the landscapes are soundwaves... always funny to hear a sound that fit your journey, like when you go out of a tunnel and the bass starts at this point :)

Methedrine Lovegod - I agree. Just techno in general gives me the sense of motion very much as the only genre opposed to others. Tech house do also have it. Probably tech trance as well, I don't know. But motion is one of the several things that techno is best at imo :)

Also, I feel this 0.2 is the best of your mixes. The others are good too, but this one is the best. I dunno, i feel like the tracks in this one have more harmony, and are well paced. They are neither too calm nor have some upbeats. If you know what I mean.

f1rstpers0n i've listened to this mix every day once or twice in the last week and without doubt my fav track is: Takuya Morita - Unknown Vision It's at the more upbeat end of dub techno - ie not the ambient end... I will research this artist's other tracks - can you though recomend any other artists who make upbeat dub techno of a similar style? ie artists who dont just have one single chord sounding every 16 bars with a bit of delay... the pattern at 30.44 in a club on a big system would sound amazing...

f1rstpers0n i don't mind repetitive as long as its more than a drum loop with one synth note with a bit of delay going on forever! i like a bit of a melody.... Takuya Morita has a soundcloud page but theres almost nothing on it - just a couple of mixes.... Of those 3 links - the 1st 2 are too ambient and the last one is getting there but the bass is way too boomy and the hi hats way too loud in the mix... They are all good tracks and i appreciate you putting the links up - i'm just being very picky as i'm looking for a very specific type of sound...Chronostasis is getting closer to what i was looking for apart from the bass and hi-hats - lol. i'll see what the other bandcamp links are like.
