"F2P Jing Yuan is Bad" - 'Crippled' F2P Jingyuan vs 1.2 MoC 10 | Honkai Star Rail

Some people asked me to showcase him with his F2P LC since they think he is not good without his sign LC. I want to make it clear that F2P Jing Yuan is not as bad as people claim, especially after the release of Kafka. I don't want to waste my resources to upgrade his F2P LC to lvl 80 S5 since resources are very limited so I just upgrade it to Lvl 30 S2 yet he still cleared MoC 10 in 4 cycles with my suboptimal play. 3 cycle is possible if I try a bit harder but hey 1 cycle difference isn't game-changing. If with this showcase people still think he is a 'bad' character, then I don't know what is considered 'good' anymore.

The thing is, if you give kafka your JY’s relic, she will do better than your JY, how do i know this? Because i have both of them, and i try it, i dont have dot relics because i did not expected to get kafka, so i gave her my JY relics. if you ask me how a character considered a good character, it is a character that doesnt need too many requirement to give the best performance. I can say JY have a good concept, but hoyo execute it in a pretty bad way. Nice video btw.

Maybe you're right, maybe not, but from most Critka showcases I've watched in yt or bilibili, they are more or less equal. That's just from my observation thou, so I may be wrong. Anyway I've showcased JY with handicapped F2P LC. I have no more to say if people still think he is bad.

@@yomot1807 for me its kinda logical for a character want to be good they need to be well invested, but with JY i might be a little picky why? Not like many other DPS, he really need that 140spd to have a very comfortable turn so he always get the 10/10 LL stack most of the times, meanwhile the other just need the 134/136 spd to get the comfortable point. Yes people might say “you dont always need the full stack” but then whats the point of giving him 10/10 stacks, and what makes it worst that LL is not instantly take its turn even at 10/10 stacks. Thats why imo Jingyuan have a very big potential to be a very strong dps but too bad they executed it poorly.

@@deedee3355 Ofc she kills faster. Currently MOC favors characters who can have better SINGLE TARGET damage. For example, if you read Kafka's skill, it says (at level 10), 176% DAMAGE to the TARGET and 66% damage to adjacent enemies (not to mention DOT detonation on the SINGLE TARGET). While Jing Yuan's is an AOE attack with 110% damage to ALL TARGETS. 176 + DOT detonate > 110 by a mile obviously. ADDs in MOC do not matter at all since they die to whatever AOE you do far before the boss/elite, the only stuff you target are the boss or elites. Thus, her higher SINGLE TARGET damage obviously makes her the better MOC character. Though, I find it funny how much Lightning Lord does in closing the gap in damage.

A lot of people are complaining about F2P players dooming JY and stuff, but the issue is with players (F2P or not) who doom JY without understanding his gameplan. It’s also wild how many JY players I’ve seen complain about their JY and admit they don’t have Asta built. She’s free for a reason. "Bad LC", no true supports (5*), no true relic set (follow-up set probably in 1.4-1.5) yet he clears it masterfully. CC problem? Eff Res, there will be a character that'll give CC immunity. If there's a problem (like his SPD before, solved by Asta.) Find a solution instead of whining with wrong numbers. If a whole character value is how fast he can clear MoC then Arlan, Himeko and Herta are SSS+ Tier because they can 0 cycle, by that logic. Play what you like without bothering others.

I got JY and his LC and I spent time investing into his character because I wanted to! I even got Blade and guess what? My Blade is one mean bastard but I always go back to Jing Yuan because he's my fav. Some people just need to stop being internet sheep and enjoy the game. You need 145 speed to consistently proc max ll stacks, also he needs higher trace investment then other characters in the game to mitigate the bad relic RNG for free to play player's who can't farm as much, all comes down to being patient enough and not to focus too hard on MOC(endgame)

Just use Asta instead of Bronya. I used to have the same team comp as you but I recently replaced Bronya with Asta and saw an improvement in their performance. Just give Asta the new relic set that provides speed (it can stack with Asta's ult) and ER rope. The team is also skill point efficient even without Luocha.

SPD boots is good if you're using Space sealing Station. Since lightning Lord is multiple attacks instead of just 1 damage instance, you're going to want at least 70% crit rate to make sure most of the 10 stack damage crits. Besides that make sure you're timing your Tingyun/Bronya ultimate right so the Lightning Lord can use the buffs.

I'm also F2P, but he has his own weapon, I'm not sure if my stats are good its 140 cd and 62 cr, but I couldn't collect his sets well, I'm thinking of improving it. i was using this exact team earlier same light cones i may even be slightly better geared, for the life of me i couldn't get past the RNG of being double tapped Double CC'd tried with bailu at 5.6k hp litrally gets attacked 4 times in a row yet doesn't have lowest eff ress, tired with luoch jing kept getting douuble tapped 3k dmg he was 2.7k hp so swapped out for hp rope litrally the worst rng again had this about 8 times always targted healer or dps with multiple attacks gave up! will try again and hope rng is on my side.

According CN community, JY damage is definitely not lower than Kafka. You can check the newest usage rate in the latest MoC cycle, JY still beats Kafka despite the current MoC buff doesn't work for him at all. Most people just love to spread misinformation without proper testing. I can agree his floor investment is kinda high though.

Use brains not brauns to make anything work .Anyways I don't really use Jing yuan for memory of chaos, but I find that even with that decently gear he can help a lot in farming materials or lightning weakness based bosses. I've got Jing Yuang on my secondary and Kafka on my main account, I can say for sure they are not much different in terms of damage, in fact, on his signature LC Jing Yuang is slightly better than Kafka in some scenarios and Kafka is slightly better on others, but nothing really noticeable. They both can clear MoC 10-1 with E0 4* characters easily, which is the most demanding content rn anyway.

People just want convenient and cozy playstyles. Jing Yuan does his job well, has the highest break in the game, but his playstyle is clunky compared to Kafka who u can brain auto with. He is also borderline unplayable without Tingyun because she helps most of his issues that other characters don't have to deal with. But people will keep on hating because of that one website that shows dmg potential as if they're ever gonna get anywhere close to that.

This doesn't really prove anything. Your jing yuan has a cracked 72/160 crit ratio. And you have 2 well invested supports making up for his lack of attack and speed. It doesnt change the fact hes the worst limited 5 star with many flaws clearly outclassed by recent damage dealers. Many people that say hes bad just want to see him get buffed

His Damage Multiplier is kinda low compare to other limited characters. 5. hard to maintain 10 LL stacks every cycle which is lost his potential maximize damage. overall Jing Yuan is a high investment character for his relics stats crt cdmg , while Kafka is a low investment character, ppl prefer Kafka cause she is f2p friendly and always rely on DoT and debuffer team comps while Jing Yuan is always rely on Tingyun, LL stacks.

Problem with Jing Yuan is, when he was released or even before he was released, people always hyped him up saying he was gonna be the best DPS surpassing Seele and came the time he was released people started seeing the flaws about his kit. Then Jing mains can't accept that JY did not meet the expectations and started defending him, whenever people start pointing out flaws about him JY mains start acting like victims even though what people say is true, then came Blade who just added salt to the wound because he became the best AoE DPS and Jing lost the title, and then with Kafka which is also a lightning character and also AoE AND deals more dmg with her DoT. I get why JY mains are angry at people calling him bad, cause he is not really as bad as some people say, he just falls behind the other 5 star DPS chars, and JY mains should accept that.

He’s attack stat was also insane low with low speed. This was closer to a bad built Jing than an average built Jing. Not sure what you’re getting at with the LC, you can buy that LC and level it up
