Oh, was it? I was just referring to times the public had done at the time according to the Palmersport website rankings. I'm under no illusion it was anything close to an actual record! :)

The laps that make the website leaderboard are all reviewed for legality, with at least one front wheel inside or on the track. Palmersport don't put cheat laps (by that front wheel on video measure) on the leaderboard at all, irrespective of the laptime. As to the point of a 1.17.14 being the fastest lap of the year -- no. It's not fast enough for the top 10 either. To make it onto the top 10 list you'd have needed a legal lap of 1.16.78 in 2022, or a 1.16.73 in 2023.

@@craigykart got you, thanks for the insight! Just FYI, the time from the lap above was 1.16.19. the 1.17 was the previous lap, you see the lap time update when i finish the lap. Anyhoo, I must have misread the site :)
