Man, for a minute there I was worried that making a mold to make a mold would be a complete pain in the ass. Then I was right! Nice work, can't wait to watch some more. 1:5 scale. Oh ya!

Nice job, a lot of work. Why dont you directly print a negative 3d piece. Sand, wax and pvc and you have your mold ready?

I noticed you have used a respirator when dealing with this stuff. I can't stress enough for you to put some safety specs on as well. This suff, if you get it in your eyes you will bloody know about it. Good video though.

Hoi Egbert, leuke leerzame video. Handig als je ook nog een lijst toevoegt met de gebruikte materialen.

Hey Twan. Dat is een goede suggestie. Ik zal morgen een lijst toevoegen met gebruikte materialen

Great explanation!! I have a few questions my dear friend: 1) is the 3d printed vertical stabilizer printed with some infill or is it empty? 2)What is the type of wood you used? 3)Can I use another fiber like for example mat 450 to reinforce the 3d printed part?
@eflaan3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 1 it's printed with some infill. The biggest problem is that the 3d print will start to bend easily. 2 its a multiple layer of wood with a thin plastic top layer. I have no idea how it's called. 3 you can use any kind of reinforcement. It must be able to follow the contour. Good luck

@@eflaan Thanks a lot, I am developing a similar project but I had had some troubles with the reinforcement, tomorrow I'll try again. Thanks again, it is a great video my friend!!

Awesome work! I have a question about the wax you applied before the PVA. Why did you need 5 layers of the wax if using the PVA as the primary boundary between the gel coat and the model?
@illla2 жыл бұрын
Because of PVA can adhere to the master model too strong without wax. Even with the wax he had issues pulling the master model out, but without wax it would turn to nightmare.

no registration marks or bolt holes?
@eflaan4 жыл бұрын
Not yet. This was just a test to see if the 3d print was strong enough. Now I can start adding all the details and after that make the real mold.
