The name of female lead in all versions, even they are different in languages, it means grass, because grass stands for strength. No matter how many times grass gets trampled down to the ground, it will always get up and fight to survive again. Gorya is from a poor family, grass is a kind of plant that looks low class and humble, no need specific caring and also no one wants to put it in the beautiful vase, but it is strong and always finds ways out to stand up and survive.

I like how they added modern nuances of cyberbullying in this show, and it really reflect on the issue of it. This series explore more of Bright's acting. He can manage to play as a likable and even unlikable character. That's really... interesting. Lol. The one who plays as Gorya, is also great since it's her first series. She showed two sides of herself during bullying scenes. She expressed her emotions through mental strength and vulnerability at the same time. Something I've never seen in other versions such as Korean, japanese, taiwanese etc.

This is the first plays of Ren(Dew), MJ(Nani), Gorya(Tu). Each character is played well and the plot is adapted carefully. I also like how they gave the weight of Thyme and Gorya's character and the reasons behind they do what they do. When she said that the thing that let her down the most was herself because she became like those other kids who stayed silent. but it still didn't stop her from protecting her first friend. They made more real and more sense in this version. I like how she declares war on him. I think Thyme doesn't want her to walk into the stadium, so he destroys that shoe to warn her instead but he don't know that shoe is important for her more than everything. He messes with the wrong girl!

This show has a Japanese manga, Taiwanese live action, Japanese live action, Korean live action, Chinese live action and 3 Japanese movies. Actually, this drama is kind of the drama that invented modern East Asian drama. So a lot of people watching will have a general idea of what is going to happen. But it is soooo cute watching your reactions with you not having seen any of them. PS, You are super-perceptive. Even without having seen the others, you have picked up on a lot.

fun fact this drama introduced my whole family lineage to east asian plot of a romantic drama story telling . With my grandma reading the manga , my mum watching the taiwanese live action, my older cousins and brother grew up watching the korean boys over flowers when i still young and is also my first kdrama. Now that i'm in my mid to late teens it's fun watching both the chinese and thai version.

The intro is really good, but its natural i think that they have high production for these, since F4 is big in Asia, its meant to attract viewers so they really have to put money in it. 😊So far so good, aside from that thick coat Thyme is wearing, he be sweating in real life hahahahah but that's how we love F4 at some points its exaggerated haahahah oversharing but, in our class back in HS we have an F4 tooo whahaahah 4 handsome and smart friends (minus the red card thing), for real, other sections and years would have a crush on them, i'm close with them, so sometimes they would say I'm dating one of them (which is a big lie btw), so soem would stop bothering them and one time i was hit by a ball by one person that has a crush on him... i laughed it out though, but seriously its became part of the culture, this F4 thing.

I laughed when your eyes widened after you said Kavin 'seems nicer than Thyme,' then boom he kissed lady 1 and then lady 2. Ren's character in all versions was likable, he was like her 'guardian angel'. REN is my fave amongst the F4. But the triangle between them, I always want Gorya's character to end up with Thyme's character.

The Original Taiwanese version is the best for me. But this version has it's own vibe to but it's also nostalgic of the original version. Bullying is severe in all versions and I like how they add cyberbullying here coz on the Taiwanese version, social media isn't a big deal yet. LOL. Been watching your reactions Lydia though, I'm a silent subscriber. LOL

I think the original version is from Japan, which is called "Hana yori dango". But the Chinese (or Taiwanese I'm not sure) version is good too

But I think the Taiwanese version is the first series because the Japanese series was released 2005 while the Taiwanese version was from 2001 Though there was a Japanese movie of Hana Yori Dango from 1995. I also think, the Taiwanese version started the phenomenon of the series.
