Nightshade's notes: You may have heard a version of this script before... but probably not quite like this. Simp was really amazing -- he knows that I have certain boundaries when choosing my scripts, and that I don't post audios where the listener hasn't clearly consented to things like blood drinking. And he knows that I have listeners who trust me to stick to the lines I've drawn. And so, he created a version of the script that was designed specifically for this channel. I'm so honored to be able to perform it.
You don't need to have listened to the Simply Must Have You series in order to enjoy this one, but if you have, you'll also learn more about Val and the world she comes from. And if you're following that series, you don't have to include this part in your personal canon for the story! It is entirely optional!

I wanted to add: I absolutely love the touch of having an opaque Val appear - as if we are imagining her very presence was there beside us. Or merely imagining her face as Lucia speaks of her. It will be interesting to see if this "debt" ever comes up, since it's an optional off-shoot. I do give her props for both the consent and post-bite care, as well. It was kind of Vessel to include such boundaries for an alternative script, as well. I definitely share your tastes when it comes to preferring consent in these situations, wherever possible.

I had skipped this one initially, but curiosity drew me back in. Gods, Val would be terrified, wouldn't she? On our behalf, as well as her own. Vessel has done an absolutely wonderful job at writing a character whose very presence screams "danger", all the while still maintaining an air of grace and decorum one would expect of her lineage. Something which makes her all the more threatening, in my opinion. And you, dear Nightshade, have done a magnificent job portraying her. Your performances never fail to impress, especially with your ability to portray so many layers of emotions and thought with your voice alone. Well done! 💙

This has nothing to do with the story but I looked at the fact that part 4 was made two months ago, and part 1 was made five months ago. But my memories of this series are still fresh, like I listened to it a week ago. Time flies, indeed. So, as usual, I read the description under the video before listening. Honestly, I have *not* heard this series performed by another VA, so I do not know anything about the original version of this script. But I think it's really cool to see that interaction between VA and the writers. And also the fact that you have certain boundaries that you adhere to. As for the story itself, I think there's something to remember about this listener. About how and with what this story began and what was very remarkable and catchy for me in the first part. This listener volunteered to be a vampire donor. That is, not just a blood donor, but specifically to feed vampires. No one forced the listener to do this. It was a conscious and voluntary decision. This listener has sympathy and compassion for vampires. This is not just a story about a random person who has an affair with a vampire, this is a story about a person who is willing to share their own blood to help vampires. I think this is important to keep in mind. Another thing that the listener has learned firsthand is how strong an effect this bloodlust has on vampires, especially when it comes to blood that suits them perfectly. How painful it is for them to hold back. I think what happened here was an act of compassion, an act of mercy, an act of pure kindness, an act of sacrifice in a way. Yes, vampires are so strong and powerful, but still, this story shows how needy and weak they can be, weak in front of this thirst, in front of this temptation, holding back from which brings unbearable torment. And it really changes the picture. It is not the powerful vampires who in their kindness shower us with compliments, but it is we who show pity for them and grant them this bliss. I'm quite a down to earth person, and in this situation, I would certainly think about how important it might be to have a good relationship with one of the oldest vampires. And that if she wanted to, nothing would have stopped her. And yet... Still, I would do my best to avoid all this. I would feel terrible, like I'm cheating on my lover. I think that this act of drinking blood for vampires is much more important and intimate than what we used to think of as such. Especially if it is done voluntarily. And in a sense, this is very true. After all, blood is life itself, we literally give away a part of what is so vitally necessary for us, but at the same time so vitally necessary for them. Not to mention that literally the whole life of vampires revolves around this and this process itself brings pleasure for them incomparable with anything, and the knowledge that their loved ones share their blood voluntarily also certainly brings pleasure on an emotional level. And in a way it feels like a betrayal to give your blood to the one who made her a vampire like that, to give herself to her master. Relations between these two are already quite complicated, I would not want to get between them and aggravate the situation. But most of all, I would like to remain faithful, because loyalty is one of the things that I really appreciate and which is very, very rare in human relationships. As for acting, it was very well played. Seriously, I just drowned in the way you played this character. Although it's not exactly my type of character, I can appreciate good acting and I appreciate good charismatic characters! When I listen to more dominant characters, I don't think that I want to be with someone like that (because I don't), but instead I think that I want to see those qualities in myself. In a way, it's inspiring to listen to such confident characters. So I got a certain aesthetic pleasure from listening to it. I also like art. I like that you change backgrounds. And I was very pleased with the moment when the image of Val briefly appears when she is remembered. It's great done. It's very nice to see all the effort put into making this. Thank you.

I love the way you recognized so many major themes in this series. And the personalities of the characters. And how deeply you've explored these ideas. Honestly, I myself get stuck sometimes in what I think would be the perspective of the character I'm acting, and bigger pieces of the picture escape my notice. So I really loved reading this. I also understand why one might not like sharing blood with Lucia when beginning a relationship with Val. And yet, the scene provides so much insight into Val and the world she comes from that I hated to exclude it. Which is why I decided to give it the label of optional. Anyone can decide for themself if they want this episode to have happened, or if only the ballroom part happened, or if all of it did. You explained the complexities of the relationships so well, I don't think there's anything much I can add, except to say again how very well you said all of that and how much I love your insight. This is, of course, just my interpretation as the VA, but - well. :) I feel like Val would probably have a great deal of emotions if she knew about this, but anger at the listener wouldn't be one of them. (She doesn't find out in the series; part four is already out, and it involves Val finding the listener again, but the interaction with Lucia doesn't come up. This is because it's an optional encounter that not everyone might want to be canon.) I think it's likely that Val might be worried, jealous, frightened... so many possibilities... but not mad, I can't really see that. Val herself has expressed that she is still working through her feelings, and she has no expectation of commitment at this stage. Hopes for the future, yes, but that's all still building. If the listener still wants to pursue a relationship with her and not with Lucia - well, I think she'd be understanding of the decision to take pity on Lucia and share blood with her. Of course, if you've got something else in mind, it could be entirely different. For a listener that does have romantic designs on Lucia, things might get complicated. And as I said, these are just my thoughts as the VA. I defer to the author as the actual authority on the subject. :P Oops, didn't mean to leave such a wall of text! Thank you for the comment! I believe That the Lucia who i believe is the Master of the Vampires (at least its the case for Valentine) Mentions that shed be in the debt to the Human Listener. And as such she wouldn't want to hurt it as Valentine would get mad. As such, listener chose to give Blood to her out of courtesy... (probably voluntarily, and also out of fear since shes now craving blood, something else could happen to someone else. Taking the shot.) This poses a Problem that the human listener might not be aware. (depending on the Vampire lore) 1- Feeding =/= Copulation If feeding a vampire does not equals to it. Then its nothing more than just a snack. Which on itself could lead to confrontation due to the nature of the relationship. (mentioned that Valentine was obsessed with the listener and that might had a thing such as. "saving it for the right moment" Could have some Romantic connotations, or could be a principle of Hunters and their preys. If Feeding = Copulation. this lore mentioned that To convert someone, they needed to feed the human with Vampire blood. However. If theres meaning to the act of feeding that resembles Copulation. Then theres a big pickle because, human listener will be walking home to a Sign saying "Welcome home cheater" And that would hurt Valentine, in both scenarios, even if Lucia is the Alpha Vampire, it would put their relationship on a spot. Ill take your word for it. That Anger is not one of the emotions. I might want to listen to the next part. (If you make it, ill be sure to listen to it and add my grain of sand) Thats all i have. 😊 Well, as always, this is only my perspective as the voice actor. But I think that feeding is something that _could_ be romantic, and could not be. Sort of like how, irl, sharing a meal with someone could be a romantic date, could be two friends hanging out, or could just be two people who happen to be hungry at the same time. It's not a perfect comparison, not _exactly_ the same, but I think feeding can be something like that, depending on the people involved. It's not necessarily just a "snack" - there are layers of possibilities there. In my interpretation, anyway. If you haven't listened to the rest of Val's series yet, and if you like this one, I suspect you might like that series, too. The link is in the description of you want to check it out and get more background on the lore and worldbuilding!

Good question! As of now, there aren't any other Lucia scripts that I'm aware of. This one slots in between parts 3 and 4 of the Simply Must Have You series, and both of those parts are already released. So in part 4, when Val finds you in the gardens, that would be after this - if you choose to include this video in your personal Val story. I do believe simp_trash had ideas for potentially continuing Lucia's story. I don't know what those ideas look like. So, there's potential for another story branching off, like an alternate Lucia route. Or maybe a series for Lucia with a different listener character. Or something else. But either way, part 4 and on in Val's route probably won't be affected by it.

Honestly. I get the need to keep consent. But the script really did loose the impact to why this was so problematic by the listeners consent to this. ESPECIALLY When frankly we have no reason to do so. I get it though. Glad you stick to your own principles first, even if I personally don’t agree with this case.

Thank you for your feedback. I would say, in this case, that I think principles actually have very little to do with it. The original version doesn't go against my principles; I think it's fine for non-consensual media to exist and for people to enjoy it, as long as everyone is aware and honest about it being a fantasy, not something to be desired in real life. Rather, for me, the act of creating certain material, of acting it out and then listening to it repeatedly as I edit, causes me to relive trauma, and I'm simply not able to do it without damaging my mental health. Because of that, I've gathered an audience with many people who have similar concerns, and it's true that I want to respect that, too. So the choices here were only ever to do the modified version or to pass on the script entirely. Sadly, I'm just not capable of performing the original. I think there's still a value in what I created, even if it doesn't have the same effect that the original was meant to, so I don't regret doing it. But I also think it's fair and valid that you and others may not prefer this version of it. I'm okay with that. I know that there will always be people who have different tastes, and that's a good thing. That's why we have lots of fabulous VAs out there, so that there can be a variety of audios and a variety of approaches. And I greatly appreciate the polite way you shared your thoughts with me. I am glad to know how you feel, and I'm glad for your understanding as well.

I’m personally a survivor myself so I understand how difficult having to produce something similar would be, and frankly I appreciate that there’s people like you out there that ensure there isn’t any more extreme cases in your content unlike some Channels. Sometimes I do listen to that kind of content when it’s done well to sort of approach it in a safer way I suppose, figured if any script had the chops to pull it off it was this one. That said, please don’t take it the wrong way, I do appreciate your commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy space for your audience and yourself. It is, actually. Every so often I get a comment like this, and I don't really know what to tell you. Google Kathleen Turner, maybe? My voice isn't all that unusual for a woman, I don't get misgendered on the phone. Some women just have a deep voice, and those were the genes I was dealt. 🤷‍♀️

This one'll be a nope from me. Not a fan of her. And not in any kind of mood that would let me enjoy this, which I suppose is no one's fault but my own. I've also seen the other script, which definitely prejudices me against the audio, I could not stand that one. I wish I could say otherwise, I want to like something that has clearly had so much work put into it and put into making it palatable, but I can't. Sorry.

@@Monster_Lover in the original script Lucia/n is a lot more assertive, which isn't everyone's cup of tea and the reason I changed up the script for our lady nightshade
