By itself, this is a great audio But the fact that it's specifically referencing Dragon Quest XI, my favorite game of all time, probably elevates it to one of my favorites.

I would have stopped insisting that she remember it and I would have celebrated it all day outside on my own with my friends, it's better that way instead of creating problems for nothing. If she forgot, well, she'll see what she does for that. I hope you are well FAUX.

Yeah I would've done a similar thing. Go spend the night at a friend's place celebrating my birthday with them. Shake off all the birthday excitement the next morning and go back to normal day to day routine when I get home.

This is quite amusing. I REALLY hate my fucking birthday, so I don't tell people when it is. Only family knows and when friends ask I'll just lie and they forget with time. So, listening to this is like looking into another world with a different prospective.

Faux is back, glad to see you are doing well. While it started bad for the speaker, the suprise was pretty good, cosplaying as one of his fav character + new game. For me it will probably be a new monster hunter game + Ada wong 😅

Omg I'm really glad you appreciated my take on your request. I was actually a bit scared that I might fumble on the game part since I wasn't really familiar with it. But all in all, i loved the process of recording it and the challenge is great!

This is one of those audios where I’m like: “yeah, she’s an ass for forgetting listeners birthday and being cold about it” but then I’m like “dude, just fxcking tell her…..WHY ARE YOU CRYING?”. Maybe it’s just me cause I personally don’t really care for my birthday now. As for her saying “whatever it is, I don’t care” well, Tell. Her. Why. She. Should. Care.

Her audios tend to have doormat and/or crybaby listeners. I agree it's hard to get immersed in these. But people write what they know, so whoever wrote the script has probably only dated emotional pushovers.

Before I go into my actual comment I am kind of compelled to rant a little bit so if you aren't down for some really pessimistic ranting just skip this part: The work culture and environment we have to deal with nowadays is an absolute pile of shit. Long gone are the days where hard work or loyalty to a company can get you anywhere. Sure, in some rare cases your hard work might be recognized and maybe even rewarded to a degree but for most places I feel the only reward for doing an outstanding job and going above and beyond for whatever reason are simply more work and more responsibilities with the same shit pay. It ends up raising, not only your standards but also the expectations of your immediate boss for you and maybe even your coworkers. Also never forget that to your employer you are replaceable. Sick because you overworked yourself in hopes of a promotion or something? Well see ya later, don't need a low performer, we'll get someone new to work into the ground. Please, for the love of anything that is important to you, NEVER prioritize your job, which couldn't care less if you were to die tomorrow, over your family, friends and most importantly, health! I understand there are bills that need paying but please take care of yourself and set boundaries at work. Don't let them exploit you and potentially ruin your relationships. While this scenario in and of itself is fiction I have no doubt that situations like that have happened and will continue to happen to people with an ending that won't be as happy as here. - rant over - Wow... this... just wow. That actually really, really hurt to listen to during that first part but maybe I'm just a little bit too empathetic but oh brother... I don't know the backstory to this but I imagine since the listener called the speaker at work they actually had some plans to do something for the occasion and the listener had to check in on the speaker since they were obviously still out at work rather than at home doing whatever it is they had planned. That's also the only real reason I can think of to elicit souch a almost visceral reaction from the listener upon realizing that the speaker forgot about today. Otherwise their reaction would seem a little bit too intense if you ask me. Either way, the lines "whatever it is, I don't care" and "I'm done with you" made me physically wince and felt like a punch in the gut, Jesus Christ. Imagine you were planning something with your SO on your birthday and you were both really excited for the day to come only to hear them say they don't care about it when the day finally arrives followed up by a line that could in the worst case be interpreted as a break up. The heartbreak would be unreal and I'd probably spend the rest of the day bawling my goddamn eyes out. Of course all of this was caused by the speaker working their ass off in order to get a promotion and, as we later learn, spoil the listener a bit more, but that hardly makes it any better. I'm glad that the speaker eventually realized the extreme fuck up and really tried to make up and reconcile again but still, I feel this whole chain of events would or should be followed up by a very serious talk about how trying to get that promotion or whatever is really not worth it if it leads to more situations like this where everyone gets hurt. Glad this one had a happy ending. Sad that this could or is a reality for some with an ending that isn't as happy. Sorry for the long comment, this has been on my mind since I listened to this so I had to get it out.
