My grandad flew these beasts, nice to see them in action!

Not only could we build the aircraft in the needed numbers, we could put enough properly trained pilots into them. Something both the Japanese and Germans lacked at the end.
@srcreeper02550 Жыл бұрын
Are you kidding? both germany and japan had much more skillful pilots than the americans, and germany even had the greatest ace of all time
@madaxeman9386 Жыл бұрын
@@srcreeper02550 That was before US fully engaged in the war. Once engaged, US produced more planes and trained capable pilots during the war, and both nations couldn't keep up. Germans may have had few outstanding pilots, but US was far better in average pilot skill. Not even close.

Yes, a Bizarre Video. At times, the narration has nothing to do with the video for example while extolling the virtues of the Hellcat at 01:40 the video ran nothing but Zeros in action. The narration about "the arrival of the F6F" at 03:13 while showing nothing but Naval gun fire and Marines fighting on a Pacific Island is also interesting. I don't get it. Perhaps the video could be edited with a piece showing CHER slapping the crap out of the video editor and shouting "Snap Out Of It" like on her Movie "Moonstruck".......

The utterly random movie/video clips is a bit much to take. Titled and discusses the F6F, but the video seems the cover the whole of the Pacific air war. Still, as a huge Hellcat fan, I appreciate any and all videos on the aircraft.
@brucelamberton88195 жыл бұрын
I gave up watching halfway through. You showed more footage of other aircraft - particularly, it seemed , the Grumman Avenger - than you did the Hellcat.

This video is all over the place; wildly erratic and full of misrepresentations. While the audio, less the sound track, is accurate with its data regarding the F6F and its kills, the film footage appears to be using US Navy film to imply destruction of IJN forces. Overall, a pitiful 3 out of 10 score. Should have left more of it on the cutting room floor...
