Great to see you all but where were Martin and Darren Bennett? 🤔 My favourite location for Autumn would have to be the Lake District but definitely followed closely by the Peak District especially as it's only just over an hour away. I'm gutted that I couldn't make the Photopeeps meet up and I'm not available for the next Thumbs Up meet up but hopefully I'll be available for the pre-Christmas meet up. Padley Gorge and Surprise View sounds great as does that pub with Beavertown Neck Oil on draught 😋

Well I have now picked up the van, running like new again, total cost 3k Going to be great to head out on the open road again and get back out with the camera.. 4 months without it felt weird driving it again.

Getting old sucks ! I have issues with my hips, had one replaced about 8 years ago, and i am only 55 in October. Not been out myself very much as for one its summer and i have many DIY projects to do and still doing, as well as working full time. Hopefully a trip to Scotland later this year. Staying in Loch Lomond hoping to get up into Glencoe area at least for a day while we are there. Think The 617 club is a good idea in principle but are they doing it for the members or is it it just another revenue stream ? I get its their business and photographers really do need to have multiple income streams im just not sure of if your getting value for money but i guess that is subjective . I am always struggling down here in the SO CALLED garden of England to find locations and living as far south east as you can get i am limited in my direction of travel so getting anywhere takes forever but i do enjoy getting out when i can and keep practicing for when i do get to a great location. Keep up the good work all, take care !

Hi Lee, the 617 Club is a great idea, I just wish they'd make the pricing more accessible for all photographers, not just the "Privalidged" ones. The talks etc look great. And totally agree, working full time only gives the Weekend to capture the images #weekendwarriors 🤣😉📷👍🏻

I have joined 617. The cost to hear Simon Booth talk for an hour was worth it alone. I hear a touch of jealousy from you guys perhaps. They agonised on what to charge for some time. They want a community of like minded photographers away from social media, the trolls, algorithms and advertising. Yes, they are influences, but they have worked hard for it. I enjoy their videos as much as I enjoy yours, however, they have an edge on how to teach the craft, my opinion anyway. If Hasselblad want to give a camera away as payment to do a video, you'd be mad not to take it up. I think it will fail if they expect to sell thousands of cameras just because TH and JP that I know of were given one. I believe MPI turned them down. Cheers for now

I definitely agree they have an edge on their teaching, they definitely could talk a good photo ❤️👍. I genuinely wish them all the best, I’m just not sure it’s for me tbh, thumbs up photography facebook group has fantastic members and a great community vibe with no advertising except members own work, no trolls and it’s free, yes there’s no Tomas Heston but he’s more than welcome to join, but he hasn’t yet.

@@Stainphotography I get a lot of pleasure and it's fun to belong photography based FB groups, including the ones you are involved with, Steve. Podcasts, too. There aren't many, if any based in Australia that come close to the UK ones.The only thing I miss is the meet ups, 617, though has another vibe as well. I will continue with it for at least the year and make a decision. I do enjoy the critique section and other areas to share work and general discussion. Less scrolling involved, that's also good. Hello there, I don't think there's any jealousy involved, I think other payment options for those that are on a budget would make it more accessible to all photographers, not just to those that can afford it. As I mentioned excluding the gear, photography is getting more expensive hence the great Facebook Groups that do FREE meet ups for all photographers as Steve mentioned the Thumbs Up group and theres also the Photopeeps Facebook Group that have a meet up this weekend and not just for the privileged ones. @@GingerCaptures Hi Darren. SB & TH wanted to have other payment options, PayPal, after pay etc, but the platform they use didn't allow it. They were disappointed about that. Apologies about the jealousy thing. i get what you say about FB being free. Let's see about 617 after a year. It is a different platform with a very friendly vibe. They are doing their best to make it members come first and to give back value for money.
