Opening Alpha WTR and ARC is the biggest crapshot you can find out there. Its pretty much big losses most of the time if you dont hit a single breakout card which gives you a lot of instant profit on the box.

@@tbd3058 I know what you mean, the view number is similar, but I look at audience retention and clickthrough rates. My FAB videos tend to have a retention close to 20 to 30%, where as MTG videos sit around 5 to 10%. Part of that has to do with people just opening videos, checking the deck list and clicking away in regards to MTG footage, but when I used to do MTG unboxings (taken those offline), I had about 10 views after 3 days and a retention of 10%. So all in all it seems the FAB community is engaged with the product much more, just a smaller community.

You got me back into magic too. It was a slow sell. It took about a year and I've been back in for a couple months now. I think it took longer because I kept feeling the pain of selling my original collection from when I was a teenager. I'm 38 now and as I went to college I had to say to myself that it was going to be mtg or moving on with life. What a false dichotomy that was! But, times were different then and I had a lot of different pressures coming at me that I hadn't yet been given tools to deal with. You're right when you say the world can be so negative and ignorant. It took me quite some time to realize that I was one of the few that actually check the facts before talking. Thanks Rudy. Peace.

Wow, that is so beautiful! I am a nurse and was caring for someone who I had a connection with and helped them through the last months of their life. The disease is so sad, a person is mentally with it as long as they are alive. If you go to eBay sold listings there are no cards selling for that. The most expensive cards are less than $500 (one card less than $1000). There are boxes selling between $2000 and $4000. But you are only talking about a handful of listings/sales. Anytime there is only a handful of sales, for these prices, the prices could easily be manipulated. It could be 2-3 people just buying each other's boxes/cards and not even paying for the listings. Schmucks see that then get suckered into paying those prices. I wouldn't touch any of this with a 10ft pool until it stands the test of time.

I'm going to preface this with I always admire anything that involves a noteworthy charity. It's always nice to see people and businesses devote time and/or money to a noble cause especially medical research etc. I was interested when the LGS mentioned was located in South Carolina, since I also live in SC. I never heard of this LGS so I decided to see where it was located, assuming it was somewhere upstate, to see if it was close enough I could possibly attend tournaments in the future. Obviously they want to support the game so I want to show my support as well. To my surprise, this LGS is actually only about 10 miles from my house but I've never heard of it till now. Come to find out it's located within a naval base so it's not exactly accessible to everyone including myself RIP. If CompetEsport is a prominent LGS, I guess I must be living under a rock?

Rudy uses a wholesale business model. Basically he runs an internet business and buys the product in bulk (think tens of thousands of dollars per product) from distributors. You would probably want to spend some money to get a corporate license (or business license of some kind) and then reach out to a distributor to place orders.

The two patrons that follow this have just increased their odds of getting a Legendary or Fabled to 1 in 3 vs. 1 in 4. if this box had a Legendary or Fabled, they likely would have lost out on the chance to get one. So, they are still in the hunt!! RUDY, this box hit the average almost deed on of four Super Rares and Two Majestics in the non-foils, and a couple of rare foils and one Super or Majestic foil, and let's not forget the one cold foil, which is usually a common in WTR. There are boxes that have zero cold foils, so count your blessings!!

For those scrolling down the comments; ALS is a "neurodegenerative disease" that causes the nerves that control the muscles to stop sending signals, causing the muscles to stop getting energy, then atrophy / waste away. It is a terrible disease that causes terrible pains, and one which we have no cure for. I've heard that the treatments have come a long way thankfully over the last decade, but that would also likely be expensive...

People ripped nearly all WTR alpha boxes because they wanted to get to know this new game no one had information on and they for sure didn’t know that it would do what it did concerning price level. Assuming there are like 1000-1500 sealed boxes of the 22000 is pretty accurate

Long story short, when the alpha product came out it was in short supply and has a limited print run (the games is from NZ so most if not all LGSes places in the US didn't carry any when it came out until the later unlimited reprinting) and it look off unexpected at a rate where supply could not keep up with demand. The Alpha edition of the first set Welcome to Rathe (WTR) is very sought after because there is a special type of holographic card called a "cold foil". Subsequent unlimited printings don't have such a thing (they have another foil variant called a "rainbow foil"), so that's part of why the alpha boxes are valued so much is due to the cold foil, there is on average 1 in each box. Supply is slowly catching up to demand for the unlimited boxes so you will slowly see more product roll in to local shops as the momentum of popularity/hype for the game picks up. A lot of more well-known major online retailers are stocking this game so it speaks a lot about the popularity and hype of the game. Pulling one of the higher rarity cards (rarer than Mythical in MTG) can be worth 4 to 5 digits at today's rates on the secondary market. Some people say it's a bubble waiting to pop, while other herald it as a new top dog (think MTG, Pokemon, YGO, etc.) in the TCG world. Due to demand unlimited boxes are around $100-150 (with the latter being in the high end). As more unlimited boxes get printed and shipped, you might see a prices go down. Due to covid and lack of official data it's unclear whether more ppl are playing vs just collecting and/or sitting on product. Those that do play the game may be localized in certain areas or more urban locales due to supply and distribution. The people that claim to have played the game tend to rate it favorably. There's a place called Card N All Gaming in Louisville, KY that advertises that they carry the game. If you're curious you can go hit them up about it and see what the hype is all about.
