One of the saddest parts of the book is when Lisa attended a meeting at Graceland. Lisa wrote, "One day I made the mistake of sitting at the head of the table at a board meeting. My mom came in and said, "Don't you ever sit in my seat at the head of the table. Who do you think you are? This is my business, I am the one who opened Graceland. You can't just come in and sit there like you're something!" Wow. I wish Lisa would have been strong enough to set Priscilla straight. Lisa should have reminded her that she was the daughter of Elvis Presley and sole heir and Graceland was hers. Priscilla was an employee! An employee I would have fired!

I have mixed feelings about this tour. First, it is very expensive and the average fan really couldnt afford it. Secondly, to me, Graceland is Hallowed ground and offering a tour like this kind of cheapens it. How would Elvis feel? Dont think he would approve.
@lindaadams23152 ай бұрын
Too expensive. Nice that they're giving 400 bucks out of each payment to charity, but 1500 is too expensive for most ordinary folks. Plus I don't think Elvis would approve of that price or that they're making even more money off of his name. I'm sure Riley means well, but it's just too much money. They should do it for free, that's what he would've done.

It's a right off for Graceland tax wise. I was there way back when they had Heartbreak Hotel, and it was more quaint of a tour. They've made it so commercialized now, and they are more interested in making it a money making machine since Joel Weinshanker got involved. Who runs EPE after Joel is gone? God knows who it will be sold to. Lisa wanted to buy back stock that she had to sell before she died. I think she was always sorry Priscilla and Siegel forced her to sell 85% of her EPE stock and almost forced her to sell Graceland totally. I hope they never have access to the upstairs. It's too personal. Elvis wanted his space to remain personal. Lisa respected that and wanted it kept personal. I hope they don't get so greedy that the temptation will be too great. Lisa always wanted to go back there. I think it gave her solace. Had she lived, she may have quit having it be a money making attraction but a home because that was where she was happy. It would be hard to imagine it not being there.

Elvis charged only 15.00 to see one of his concerts. I think it was 5.00 back in the 50's. He did that so people could afford to come. I don't think Elvis would like this at all. He'd wouldn't want to be affiliated with it. He took time to sign autographs, take pictures, and he truly gave back to his fans for their support. He knew what it was like to not be able to afford something. The millionaires running it now think 2,000 is a pittance.

I think Joel Weinshanker has shown a different side to himself now with Lisa gone. He is the one who sees it as a huge moneymaking event. All the waiting, the buses, the head pieces. Paying Linda Thompson and Jerry Schilling 1250.00 a piece to just talk to fans in the Jungle room. That is the height of greed. They've told their stories thousands of times personally and with books, and now they want people to pay to see them and hear all those things that are in books and on video. The one constant in our physical universe is change. Everything changes and this will too. When they have no one to personally be there that knew Elvis, they will show a tape of them talking. Lisa's twins know nothing about Elvis and they are part of the trust. Riley has her own movie career, so I'm sure she won't be there eventually at all. She isn't there now that much. Joel Weinshanker will be in charge of everything. Lisa never wanted Michael Lockwood at Graceland. God forbid they change that and allow him access in spite of the fact that Lisa never wanted him to ever be allowed in there.

The last I researched, graceland was considered a historic landmark and was controlled by the state. Priscilla gave up right of ownership to it when that happened, she only got residuals from the profits of the tourism that was there, and it was agreed upon that nobody would ever go upstairs.

This all makes me sick I know Riley's is doing the best she can and decisions I feel comes from Granny Priscella. This is so SAD.

Priscilla would have done this YEARS ago if she wanted to do it. How about this comes from JOEL the snake!

Priscilla has NOTHING to do with this decision! Neither does Riley! This is ALL JOEL Weinshanker’s doing! He is a fucking criminal! Elvis was NEVER about charging his fans outrageous prices to come see him?? He kept his prices low and affordable so that everyone could come see his shows ! Joel is a SNAKE! He only cares about how much MONEY HE CAN MAKE! The isn’t the PRESLEY FAMILY doing this AT ALL!!
