Fabia VRS - DSG gearbox and an idiot nearly hits me

Just having a moan about the gearbox and response of my little Skoda

I was pulling into a dual carriage way and I was indicating where's he just cut me off without warning so I wouldn't say it's the same?

I have the same issue with the 7spd dsg. I go to accelerate off and it changes up a gear far to soon often leaving me far behind were I expect to be which I think in some situations can be quite dangerous. I now use the manual gears at a junction just because d mode is so unpredictable.

i don't understand, why they supposed to have the right, if the light is red for them ?

Because they are not enclosed in metal shells, like us the drivers are! As the driver, your responsible for your own and everyone around you safety

@@craigbarnes7290 Precisely, they should take responsibility for stopping when the traffic light is red, since they are not surrounded by "bodywork" as you say. The driver has the green light so he has the right to pass, it is for pedestrians to stop. If not, what would the light be for? and yes my English is not perfect but i'm Swiss so...

I now own this little beast! 37k now, had to get clutch changed because you must have abused it! So thats me £1100 down 🤣 but drives perfect now with R8 coils and dont regret getting it changed 🔥 gets well looked after, NGK plugs at £55 every 8k miles ish 🔥

Change the spark plugs and coil packs to fix the missfires, if you want Dsg farts remove the centre silencer

use sport mode, drops the 7th gear and is much more responsive. cracking little daily driver, not too bad on track either

Get it mapped the new software will fix a lot of the issues including throttle response

Yeah, it's got a supercharger to handle power low down until the turbo kicks in so you have power all the way through! I used to own one and loved it. Sold it to buy a Jag and now got rid of that and bought an 04 version of this.. Which is only a TDI 👎🏻 hopefully I'll get another one at some point! Best car I've ever owned. Despite the gear changes being random! Haha!

TruckerChrisR What?? This is just a 1.9 TDI PD130 isn't it?? Doesn't have a supercharger at all. What am I missing? :)

+cwuzii no this is a post 2010 model. Pre 2010 were 1.9tdi with 130bhp. Post 2010 models are 1.4l with turbo and supercharger and develops 180bhp! Used to own a 2013 Fabia Vrs and loved it, sold it and bought a 2012 Jaguar XF (has the same performance spec!) and now I own a 2004 Fabia Vrs 👍🏻 very big fan of the Vrs range! Both the furby and the octy!

TruckerChrisR Ohhhhh I see hahaha. I didn't know it was the newer one. So it's the same 1.4 TSI my mate has in his Seat Ibiza Bocanegra then. Big power for a 1.4, I personally wouldn't have one because of the displacement and the absolute need to wind the engine up so much just to get anywhere. But I can't really say anything when I've not owned one. So your current VRS is the PD130 then? Have you remapped or anything?

+cwuzii no need to wind it up since it makes a heap of instant torque from idle! This car takes off quicker than my S3... for about .5 of a second.
