If you are watching this after 11 months where both Arjun and Pragg put up an epic fight in the current world cup, you would know how far Fabi sees in to the future. Pragg even went on to defeat him in the semis so he knows that even his mortality is also inevitable from this younger generation, especially this stream of stormy Indian prodigies

in classical format, they mostly loose as they dont wish to go for a draw, except arjun. arjun rarely do that, and he did that against arvind in dubai open. he had a chance to draw. Pragg lost his game in dubai open, when he attempted to go for a win, even though he knew he may loose. he had the chance to go for a draw; he said it in the interview , exact position which he would have played if he wished a draw. after that game, pragg became more cautious. next couple of games, he drew, avoiding such risk taking options. so, its more to do with their wanting to win always, they learn from their losses.

I think people like sagar (CBI) should have spoken to him, and could have persuaded him to be in competetive chess, as otherwise, inspite of so many players, coaches etc, if none of them help such a player in times of lack of focus, whats the use?

In classical chess, nihal is very solid player. He is unbeaten in last 50+ matches.very solid ,but 60- 70% of these matches end up in draw.Which is why he stuck in the late 2600's. In general if he is playing in your team ,he will guarantee minimum a draw (half points) in all games. But a slow progress in his individual rating. I wish he will play more agreesive in classical, rather than playing for draw.Thats the difference between his classical and blitz rating.

2 years later post the olympiads '24, Arjun is leading the pack with just 3 Elo away from 2800 (just having overtaken Fabi) with Gukesh at 2794. Very likely Fabi's prediction will come true.

Given the numbers, I suspect it is only a matter of time that Indians will occupy most of the top positions. Money was a factor before but not so much now. So statistically the odds are in favor of the Indians.

I think, Nihal needs to work on his health to go further. He looks very weak and frail. He needs good training and diet regime. Chesswise, he has the best understanding among youngsters. But we all kmow the importance of phyaicial fitness in chess.

though all of them are good., we will come to know probably, in couple of years, how consistent they are and where they would be standing. in classical format, they mostly lose as they dont wish to go for a draw, except arjun. arjun rarely do that, and he did that against arvind in dubai open. he had a chance to draw. Pragg lost his game in dubai open, when he attempted to go for a win, even though he knew he may loose. he had the chance to go for a draw; he said it in the interview , exact position which he would have played if he wished a draw. after that game, pragg became more cautious. next couple of games, he drew, avoiding such risk taking options. so, its more to do with their wanting to win always, they learn from their losses. in rapid/blitz chess, i think all of them are good, they may occasionally loose if opponent(may be in top 10 - 15) plays great..
