Welcome to our first vlog of 2023. It didn't start exactly as we hoped but we think it's important to share the lows as well as the highs! In this video, we share the scary situation that led us to figure out that there was a problem with our twin baby boys, we start our bedroom transformation with some paneling and we see in the new year as a family of 4 :) If you enjoy this video then hit the thumbs up and subscribe.

The best thing you can do is make noise while the babies are sleeping. That’s exactly what we did and our kids could sleep through anything and anywhere. On the other hand my sisters whole house stopped and it had to be silent while her kids slept. As you know getting anything done has to happen when the babies are sleeping. I ran the vacuum in the same room and they slept through it. Y’all are doing great, keep it up!!!

El crying when the boys settled for the first time after moving to Aptimel Pepti had me in tears. My son who is 10 weeks old is also on Aptimel Pepti and the relief you feel when you realise they are no longer uncomfortable and in pain is indescribable. I felt all of her emotion in the moment it’s so mentally & physically draining when you baby/babies are like that. ❤ xx

Aptamil pepti 1 changed my daughter! Much happier baby :) rash on eyebrows and belly disappeared, no more discomfort, it took 2 weeks for me to see the full effect as that’s how long it takes for the other milk to leave the system x

As a tip from a Nicu nurse we use aptamil pepti JR which is this- most babies struggle to take to this and a tip we use is to make its warm, not room temp as otherwise they don’t entertain it. some babies love it hotter than normal on Nicu. Also it does make there stools smell fyi 😂

I hope the boys continue to improve, I can only imagine how frightened, upsetting and frustrated you were feeling Ell. I was only saying a couple days ago how miraculous it is when babies are born. Going from the environment of the amniotic sac and fluid to the outside world of learning to breathe air with their little lungs going through a huge transition, virtually instantly. So your absolutely right Ell. I haven't heard of the fourth trimester before but yes, again your absolutely right. Most babies don't have the feeding issue when they're breastfeeding. Fingers crossed that whatever formila you have the boys on now, that it works so you can all get some much needed rest. Love their new clothes.

I found a swing a life saver with my now 2 year old ! Big and bulky though not sure how you would cope with two in the house. Could have one thought and take in turns with who ever is needing it xx also she had a cows mill allergy we was on nutramigen (on prescription from docs so was free) and I think it took 3 different milks to get there. Cant really remember how to spell it now. Didn't notice until stopping breastfeeding. By 16 weeks she was itching so much all the time but changed milk and she was fine. We done all the checks at hospital I think when she was over one and pleased to say she grew out of it and had no allergies long term. At nearly 3 she has cheese yogurt milk the lot. Hopeful that's the same situation for you. She fed amazing once changing milk and changed to a settled baby really quick

You two are so cute! I'm so happy that Ari and Noah are feeling much better. Having your first child (children) is so stressful on the parents too because you don't know what is normal. My son was such a quiet, happy little baby, never cried, slept through the night at 6 weeks. My daughter on the other hand was the total opposite. She suffered from colic and refused to drink from a bottle. I was her bottle for the first 6 months so no one could ever help me out. It all worked out in the end and I'm sure it will for you two as well. You both look amazing, and the boys are so much bigger just from the last video! Hope you have a wonderful week! After having twins it will be so good to make sure you refocus on your relationship too. A book called His Needs Her Needs I would recommend. I completely understand how hard it is when they are so unsettled with feeds and never seem to settle or sleep for long periods. I’m a paediatric nurse so knew the signs so once I got her milk switched she became a different baby. I did have to add some carobel in her feeds just to thicken the milk abit due to her reflux but after that she was thriving and so happy! Fingers crossed this settles soon for them. Speaking of thermometers when the boys get constipated take their temperature of course their not going to have a fever but you will see it gets the process moving and they have no discomfort use good amount of Vaseline. And I kept socks on my babies 24 7 365 days til they was 1 not one of them had colic maybe not 24 7 365 but definitely when they slept. I have 7 6 boys 1 girl. She's the princess in the middle and there's 21years from oldest to youngest. My oldest is a pediatric dermatologist specialist in Washington state in US. I've got the tests you have to take for parenting 101 I will look for it and post it next video you will enjoy it. Hang in there your doing just fine actually better then fine so ease up there Ell don't be so hard on yourself. Play classical music for them it stimulates certain parts of brain they say anyway. Mine had a fish aquarium (not real) that had fish that swam and lights and different music and a sleep timer it was awesome it connected to side x of crib. Just a suggestion. My daughter had a severe problem with her 4th baby with feeding. It took months to find out that baby Emberlee was severely allergic to milk protein, and then to find right formula. Emberlee also had severe problems with acid reflux, so meds for that. Finding right formula in-stock was very difficult. She was born premature, very tiny , and wasnt gaining weight. When was about 2, genetics testing found a very rare disease which showed the eating disorder as a problem as well as her older sister having. There are many other symptoms that go along with disease so both kids have to go for tests every few months, ie. Heart, thyroid, kidney, etc

try separating them all the time. My twins one was a light sleeper and the other one a deep sleeper and just a nudge from each other would wake the light sleeper up. They basically thought it was time to eat when they were nudged by there sister. After I separated them from each other even when they were awake they did so much better sleeping.

In Canada it is forbidden to put a car seat in the front seat, due to the danger it causes to the infant in case of an accident and even just an air bag deployment. I'd invite you to check whether it is safe wherever you are. Best wishes.

My future daughter-in-law's son has a severe milk allergy. He's a teen now but he cannot drink or eat anything made with milk. It will be tough learning what he can eat as he grows but you'll get there.

You are doing an awesome job with the boys. Allergies and reflux are quite common in babies.. how does a first time parent know what is normal and not? Youmight consider keeping them elevated or upright 15 to 30 min after eating as it helps with vomiting. Watch for blood in stool too as it is a sign of allergies. My son had to go on rice formula due to allergies. Hugs and you got this!

My son got diagnosed with cows milk protein allergy at 5 months old he use to take near on an hour to feed dribble alot wasn't necessarily sick but hated being on his tummy etc. They prescribed him aptamil pepti 1 which is just the proteins broken down that babies should be able to manage them but my son couldn't digest it at all so he went onto a hydrolysed amino acid formula called neocate lcp formula which has no cows milk protein in it but the rash can be a sign of a reaction 😢

I think we have all experienced what you guys have with newborns but it works itself out and yes there is some guilt that comes along with it but you should have everything worked out and a routine going soon. They are precious and so are both of you.😊

Try raising the boys head of the babies cot using something underneath the boys mattress like a couple of towels rolled up etc. as if the boys have colic then having the head raised whilst they are sleeping it apparently helps babies sleep and reduces the pain from reflux/colic etc. Sadly it is trial and error with babies that have allergies to milk or formula etc. You guys are an amazing team and I know you guys will do amazing at ensuring your beautiful baby boys have everything they need, and they will thrive and grow up to be the best boys ever because they have you guys as their parents ❤️❤️💙💙

We had a very similar issue with our identical twin girls. They had severe reflux and we had to feed them sat upright (it’s definitely worse when you feed them lying down) and then hold them upright for at least 30 minutes after each feed to ensure that more of it stayed down. We also had their Next2Me cot on an incline as they would have more reflux during the night otherwise. I fed them a combination of breast milk and Aptimel Anti-Reflux formula. The latter really helped but sometimes made them constipated. I also cut out dairy from my diet and we tried dairy free formula but it didn’t make a difference. We also tried Hipp Organic and we also tried adding Caribel to their formula and giving them infant Gaviscon on the suggestion of our GP, but that didn’t help. We had very scary episodes where it seemed like they were choking when the milk came out of their nose and mouth at the same time. This happened on one occasion while they were a few days old and still in hospital and also when we first brought them home. We would blow in their faces to shock them into taking a breath, or I would hold them with their heads tilted downwards and their bodies resting on my arm and pat their backs until it cleared. It was very distressing but as they got older and we started weaning them the episodes stopped completely. They are now 2 years old and the reflux had mostly gone by the time they were 10 - 12 months old. We were also told not to feed them too much milk at a time and to give them a little at a time instead. You guys are doing an amazing job - you’ve got this!

Hi fab And ell. I had 34 week prem baby on the 10th Feb 2022. So 6 wks prem and I had pretty much the same thing happen to me I was exclusively breast feeding her at the time and had to go off dairy myself. Once she was 6months old I started to reintroduce dairy back into my diet and she had been Great. I could just be that they still have very immature guts and time and growing bigger will help.
