Wow I didn't even remember that Fabio didn't make it into Q2 at Misano, let's compare it to F1, just imagine the championship leader not even making it into Q3, that's unimaginable, I mean, I'd bet my soul it never happened, it just shows how much more unpredictable and competitive MotoGP is even though Fabio won with 3 races to go and the title fight went down to the final race in F1, but talking about qualifying, that's absolutely impossible to happen, whoever is the championship leader will be at least 3rd in quali so big difference, I just think that shows how much more the rider skills matter in MotoGP than in F1 where if you are having good results, so is your teammate, I've never seen a situation like what happened between Lorenzo and Marquez in 2019 in F1, one was dominating and the other didn't even finish in the top 10 once, a big difference between both series.

@@RacingRoman44 No I have to compare cause it's the most overrated sport ever, in my opinion, 2 hours of nothing, people only watch it because there are big brands like Ferrari, Mercedes, Red bull, etc... used to be a big fan but it's pure trash, zero racing, whenever there's a battle which is rare, someone gets a penalty for nothing, investigate this, investigate that, fuck off, MotoGP is trying to follow in the same step as well with all the stupid investigations, I mean, just let them race.

Take it from me: a F1 fan turned motogp convert. F1’s always had a much lower overtaking rate because of the wide cars, and so it reduces your probability of winning from outside the front 2 rows really, unless you’re in a car with a HUGE pace advantage. Given the differentials between the field, it’s usually likely that if you faced a shock q1 or q2 elimination (like a merc or rb in 2021), you’d be able to recover for a top 6 in the race. So based on this, it’s essential that you get a good quali if you NEED the win (or points attributed), but you know that you can still recover good points provided you’ve got the pace advantage. Motogp for me, is a lot easier to overtake, which renders qualifying less important. Of course, good qualifying goes a long way, but with the amount of back and forth that the field loves to do, you know that even if you’re down towards the back end of the field, you can look upon your chances to get a large points haul and think of them favourably. That’s just how I see it though, that quali plays less of a vital part in motogp due to the back and forth nature, and with the way F1’s evolved so following & overtaking’s harder, it only becomes more critical for them to do their hard work on Saturdays - which may possibly indicate that motogp is more forgiving of smaller mistakes due to more opportunities & more emphasis on having a clean Sunday.

Watching part 1 and part 2 of this documentary again now 18 Oct 2022 when Fabio is 14 points trailing Pecco. I see there is still chance if you believe and be yourself again Fabio. _quartararo is better/refined version of lorenzo, one of the best i seen in controlling those brakes and gas throttle in cornering. it's a good thing that they put him on vale's position for replacement with the yamaha factory rider spot. another rossi's style/shadow/mirage goes to joan mir._
