i found a raven in 1995 sat in the fast lane of the m61 by chorley i pulled over and got him in the car he had a huge scab over both eyes , he was sure hungy and thirsty, we got a surgeon to lift the huge scab s off his head and he still had eyes , never knew a bird could be so intelligent till i met that guy. we kept him for 6 months then i released him into a group of ravens that roost nearby. my eyes are welling up thinking about him but he was n't captive bread so i thought he would be better out there hopefully finding himself a mate. followed me everywhere and couldnt talk but showed affection and trust for me in magnitudes.

Do ravens find a new mate, if they loose their previous?
@Michael-tq6xm4 жыл бұрын
@@polarisator9892 I don't know, I knew one Swan who had his mate stolen, by thieves and he never raplaced her, I used to go sit with him and get neck hugs off him and sometimes wing hugs too until he got stolen too. Human /animal love is the purest, that Swan used to walk with me up the river when he I went fishing, I used to get out the car shout his name and he came to spend time with me. @@Michael-tq6xm I can relate. When I worked at the Thompson Airport [Manitoba, Canada], we had an Airport Raven. I don't know if it was because I chatted back to him or what but I felt like his pet human. He would accompany me on all my weather observations and whenever I had to do a synoptic ob [every 6 hours with the morning one being the most lengthy] and all of these obs being quite a ways away from the terminal building he would take a short flight, land, wait for me to catch up, hop beside me for a few paces, rinse and repeat. Chattering the whole way out, snoopervise me out in the Met Compound, and chattering the whole way back. I felt very special as his pet 😊

Some of the ravens around here have a magnificent purple-blue sheen. They play in the wind and are incredibly agile. But others are dull and scruffy-looking. And are invariably thicker, slower, more sturdy, less curious, more aggressive. They're all one kind or the other, none in between, and they seem like different species but they're not.

I love your channel! We live in western Washington and have been adopted by a beautiful Raven couple. For the past 10 years we have been visited every day by our friends. In the early summer they bring their new (fully grown) chicks to meet us. It sounds like a zoo here (monkey calls) as the kids sort themselves out. There are usually 4 or 5 young. Invariably, one is the odd bird out. So, by early winter, all of the young Ravens have found a new home territory except the one. So, each winter we have 3 Ravens. We love them all. The native Americans in this area revere and practically worship the Raven. Thanks you so much for your efforts. We love all of our bird friends.

This is fantastic. Thanks so much for demonstrating vast patience and real empathy for Fable. We live very close to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. There are lots of ravens in the park...and in particular a "couple" or two raven friends who live very close to the places we like to hike on a regular basis. They always - and I mean always - come out to greet us. To grok at us and check out where we're going. I've never spotted a nest - probably will not, but they are beautiful, energetic, and smart. I like to talk to them - one is braver than the other (male? female?) and will come closer to us than the other. When they fly together, depending upon the wind, it is like watching an aerobatic team. They are magnificent. Thank you so much for these wonderful informative videos!

Generally speaking domesticated animals lost a lot of intelligence, compared to their wild forms (for example wolves are more intelligent, then most dog breeds). Didn't effect cats that much, though. They mostly just got less timid. Fable is of course tamed, instead of domesticated, so no huge genetical differences compared to her wild brethren .

They sure are! They are like flying cats in a way. I have a ginger Norwegian forest cat (we think Norwegian forest...or possibly mixed with Angora? - the litter was found in my in-laws’ back garden and we got them all adopted). Anyway, he’s very much a “people” cat compared to his sister (pure white) who we also adopted. I love her, she’s very playful, but she’s exactly a typical feisty cat, and a bit aloof and averse to being held. My ginger boy will make all kinds of different meows and head nods and gently paw at things to “point” and look right at you to make sure you saw (!) and such to communicate. It’s like he knows so much of what we say that I am interested in getting a set of communicator buttons like some dogs and cats have to tell their humans things. I feel like fable is just as intelligent and affectionate with her handler. Also, my boy kitty is extremely treat motivated and loves solving puzzles. Maybe someday we can get our own little fable.
